Car and Driver July issue

My subscription happen to not deliver the July and August issues... And when I asked for back issues, they said they aren't available so they extended my subscription...

Well, on the July one, it appears that they did more article on the C63S. If anyone has it, if you can post whatever they wrote (if it is worth it) and pics that would be awesome.

Meanwhile I am gonna try to find one in the store, but it might be too late...

Are you sure it isn't the August issue?

3 Germans
C63S (Second place)
- Pugnacious V8, composed chassis, five-star interior.
- Spastic transmission, the group's firmest ride, not as butch as the old one.
- A bar bouncer in a tuxedo.

M3 (First place)
- The lightest and leanest, wonderful sensations.
- Loose brakes, less lavish inside than the C63, some fussy controls.
- Exactly what it's supposed to be: a faster German sedan.

"Faster than its power ratings would suggest, the squared up, relatively pragmatic M3 still feels right for this job, even as its competition closes in."

C63S 0-60: 3.9 1/4: 12.1/122mph
M3 0-60 3.8 1/4: 12.2/117mph

Car & Driver has always been, and will always be, in love with the M3.

The margin separating 1st and 2nd place was incredibly close (3-4 points, AFAIK). The F8X is a great platform but I cannot believe those goons at C&D had the C63's tire pressure pumped up past the moon. That had to hurt grip and ride quality.

Motor Trend's upcoming comparo may turn out quite differently.

I think they only won by 2 points and they gave the M3 2 or 3 points for lower price so the C63 would have won if price was not a factor.
They said their testing policy made them use the air pressure numbers on the door post. Which is just BS because if they were doing a long term test they would not drive it for 12months at 48 lbs. pressure.
They need some common sense and use the correct pressure.

The 12.1 @ 122 MPH was actually the ATS-V time, not the C63 S. I think the numbers are fishy, but that's another subject...

This result for the ATS-V is very suspect given that no other test has produced results close to this. In fact the just published MT review clocked the ATS-V at 12.1 @ 116.2.

Thus, several of us suspect that C&D managed to interchange the ATS-V and C63 acceleration results.

The upcoming M&T Best Driver's Car review will also include the ATS-V and C63, so that should give us better insight into handling, acceleration and overall street and track performance.

I was able to hunt down a copy, thanks for doing all this anyway. One thought that occurred to me is that the drivers they use are professional drivers, I am sure they have a different preference than most of us on cars. And they tested them on a track I assume. Which easily explain why M3 won.

Also, what's the tire pressure debacle... did some searching, seems everyone has a different opinion on this. JP wrote "37 Front/40 Rear." is this different than the sticker?

I'm shocked second place wasn't a Honda Accord. Seeing how C&D loves those as well.

C&D is about as objective and useful with comparo's as a hole in the head.
