Want to mod your new 63?? DONT BUY FROM WEISTEC

Now I am sure there are some Weistec nut huggers on here so I **** you off too bad.

I also own my own business and I would hate to write anything bad about someone else business so it actually hurts me to write this but I am really annoyed.

Now when I had my cla45 I dropped 1900 bucks on their NO CEL catless downpipe. It was a nice piece and I really enjoyed the performance from the mod.

Issue 1 - My CEL came on for rear 02, obviously they didnt test this enough. I called them and they sent me a 02 spacer.

Issue 2 - My CEL for the same code came back on. They sent me another spacer but it was winter and I had to store my car.

Issue 3 - When I got the car out for spring Weistec offered me a free ECU tune if I purchased their BOV. Awesome deal right?? SO I did it. Installed everything and the car seemed to be faster but it ended up driving like crap, weird stuttering and throttle response. Paid for overnight shipping to check the ecu, got it back still ran like crap. Removed the BOV car ran slightly better. The BOV was getting stuck open because there was a piece of metal lodged in the piston of the BOV. I thought my problem was solved NOPE! Car still was sputtering and not running correct.

I wrote a great review on the tune because weistec gave me a deal and I wanted to do my part and help them out SO even though my tune was terrible I kept the review up, and weistec made some sales out of it I am sure.

I just wanted my car back to stock so I told weistec to please flash my car back to stock and refund me my money. Got my ECU back and the car ran perfect, thank god cause a week later I decided to pull the trigger on the C63 and Dump my CLA.

Weeks go by and I still didn't receive my refund. I heard back (and i have the emails saved) from other people not the east coast that received their ECU tunes from weistec and their cars run like crap. NOW I feel terrible for leaving my good review up and now other members are being screwed.

I hit up Weistec repeatedly for my refund. I wanted to give them the opportunity to make this right and I would still give them some business for 63 mods. I understand that you have to pay to play and not everything is perfect, these cars I'm sure are tricky to tune.

Problem 4 - I finally get my refund check and these scumbags hit me with a 18 percent restocking fee.

WTF - You hit me up offering me a deal on parts which were faulty and after all the over night shipping back and forth (100 each way) you hit me with a restocking fee?

I sell 20 dollar pre workouts and bodybuilding supplements and my customer service is 10000000000 times better than Weistec. Weistec sells very very expensive parts and their service sucks.

Weistec had the opportunity to keep my business for the C63. Sorry Weistec Jerry from Eurocharged just got my business.

Hey man I'm sorry to hear about your troubles! But thank you for posting this! We need to post the good and the bad when dealing with these tuners. So now just so you know you made a great choice with E.C. Those gets are great guys to work with and have always treated me first class! Jerry even made my tune while on vacation in Germany in a very quick turnaround time from when I sent him my file. Guys are top notch!

I don't think there is a tuning company out there that has everyone happy. I have had nothing but good experiences with Weistec. When these companies say they are going to refund money for issues with their products they should. I spent almost $3,000 on long tubes from MBH and the passenger side did not fit and one of the primaries was fabbed to close to the flange making it impossible to start a nut.

Mike who I'm assuming is the owner said he would do a partial refund because I had to pay my fab guy to try to fix the issue and having my car down for another 7 days was not an option. When it came time to see the money come back he quit responding to me. Terrible.....

Sucks they didn't want to do something to make you happy.

Sucks to hear that. Customer service should be the #1 thing companies focus on. It would make for much better business and repeat customers. Sorry to see this. Happens a lot in the auto industry.

I own a supplement company, our number 1 focus is customer service.

I know how you feel. I was almost there. I started to think about selling the car but I could not in good conscience give these problems to someone else.

Same story but I waited months

Ya I hit them up repeatedly as well for months on end. I paid $22,300 to play with them and got under 100 hp to show for it.

That is what I have been saying as well. Weistec had the 8 months of opportunity to keep my business for my C63 but in the end they just kicked me to the curb and said they could not help. PTG fixed every Weistec issue on the first tune in under 15 minutes.

My dad is gonna kill me when he reads all these posts. He told me to treat Weistec like a dead dog. Just burry it and forget about it…don’t keep bring it up because it only hurts more. BUT… Sorry dad I am like a chick that got dissed at the prom…revenge runs deep.

I am sure someplace out there is a WA meeting. Weistec-Anonymous where people that drank their cool-aid and supported them to the end need to go to heal from the pain of being royally lied to and mistreated.

In a world where communication is key, Weistec needs a locksmith because they lost all the keys. I would have spent $20,000+ more with them if they just would have taken my calls and done what they claimed they could and would do.

I don't think there is a single company in any industry that makes 100% of the people happy 100% of the time. I don't think anyone expects that. However, its what a company does when faced with adversity that counts. In my case I literally had problems 5 measurable times. Each time they failed me. They failed to return calls in a timely manner, they failed to repair my car in a timely manner, they played the blame game and made all the problems out to be "not our fault and not our problem" each time there was an issue i had to lean on my dad to lean on them to do the right thing and EVERY time they lagged. A perfect example is taking 2 weeks to retune the car the last time i dropped it off. 2 WEEKS! And after 2 weeks they still could not muster a 100hp gain.

I see they are promoting 1000HP C63's. Then when you dig deeper these cars are on kill on E85 and I am still not convinced they are the ones doing the tuning. I just cant figure it out, if these guys are capable of true 1000hp C engine packages why couldn't they make my car run after months of trying. Furthermore, when they market 800 to 1000HP packages why don't they say it requires race fuel or E85.

They had my car in their possession - its not like i was begging for a mail order tune and they could not bench my ecu. they had the whole car.

would like to see some draggys or dyynos to be able to make a suggestion, but with those mods and e-fuel should be a able to run 10.5s or very close.

I tried Weistec W.1 Tune for my 2016 C63 AMG. I have an Autel scanner and I was using the scanner in live mode to diagnose the problem. The scanner registered knock at high rpm. Weistec advised me to gap spark plugs 0.022 and replace ignition coils. The theory was misfires were registering as knock. I did not log any error codes for misfires

I’m not an expert mechanic, and I’ve never tuned a car. Weistec advised me to purchase HPT MVP MPVI2 for data logging. I watched HPT tutorials, the problem became obvious to me. The timing was too far advanced. That was not the only problem. They changed the shift points, above 3rd gear I would crash the rev limiter if I didnt manually shift.

The Weistec tune was garbage. They kept 18% restocking fee, $500. I paid for a new set of ignition coils and 2 sets of spark plugs. I gapped one set 0.022 then swapped back to stock.

5K miles later and no problems.

Back on stock tune. With new ignition coils and NGK iridium spark plugs- Weistec air filters.

Larger wheels, more traction.

Front: 19x9.5 ET+30 & 265/35ZR19
Rear: 20x11 ET+55, 12mm spacer & 295/30ZR20

Car accelerates and handles much better.

This is good man I just went back to stock tune as well and love the way the car drives it's so much more drivable....... sometimes these sh*tty off the shelf tunes aren't worth the headache and it's good u are back to stock. Do you think the gapped 0.022 plugs improve performance on stock tune?

New ignition coils are better. Plugs should be gapped as wide as possible. I changed the plugs again, back to stock gap. I used NGK iridium plugs that come on GT AMG.

If I upgrade the turbos I’ll go with HKS one step colder plugs. 0.022 gap theory has not been proven to me, i think that is more likely to be a cause for misfires.

Rebuilt turbos like Pure 900 seem to be reliable and cost effective. I am interested in custom exhaust, moving up to 3 inch pipe with straight through mufflers, maybe Borla. That is just a pipe dream for now.
