Maintenace costs on a C63

Can someone enlighten me here on the costs for the

1) First rear axle oil change
2) 10k service
3) 20k service

costs individually?

It actually comes out to be a wash in the end. If you are leasing; it cannot be added to the MSRP; so you paying for it fully over the course of the term.

The rear diff costs about $150. The 10k Service is about $250-$350 depending on dealership labor rates. The 20K Service is about $350-$450. 30K is about $250-$350 (Same service as 10K). All of your PPM includes replacement Wiper Blades. So in the end it's a brake end. Your 1st Rear Diff Service is included in PPM.

Thanks JP. Looks like:

rear diff: $150
10k: $350
20k: $450
30k: $350
40k: $450

$1750 total. However, the PPM quote I got was for $2350 for 4 years. Why even do PPM then?

This is the schedule from MB website; Scroll down to prepaid maintenance, click on it and scroll down. The 30000 mile service is way more then $350.

Don't forget about yearly price increases. I am getting the 4 yr maintenance plan for my C63s because of how much I have been paying for my c350 regular service interval.

Still... the delta is about $600 between not having PPM and having it. Any price increase would affect both paths, right?

I did not know you were purchasing a 4 Year PPM. So yes, the 4th service is extremely expensive. If you plan on keeping the car for 3 years it's a break even. If you are keeping it for 4 or more years; then go for the PPM.

Does the 4/40k PPM include the spark plug replacement at 40k ?

I was quoted $2375 last week. Do you know if the PPM can be purchased from out of state dealers?

...or you could do it yourself, or take it to an independent shop for a fraction of the price.

I thought about that as well because I have a really independent mechanic. But does MBusa required owners to have all maintenance performed by authorized dealers?

in looking at the service schedule, how does the 20k at $700 differ from the 40k at $840 ....as they are doing the exact same thing.....why the price difference.

There is a total of $100 profit in PPM. Do not try to be a hero by asking if your local dealership could do better on the price.

If the spark plugs are required at 40k then yes they would be covered.

No. They can't. In the same way LG can't void my TV's warranty because I'm using a Logitech remote with it. Read your manual, so long as maintenance is properly carried out and documented, you're fine.

Understood and appreciate the transparency. However, I would think there is a significant amount of profit built into each of the service costs. This holds true in my opinion with any auto brand. The cost for a routine 10K, 20K, 30K, etc. service is substantially more (because of mark up/profit) than taking it to a local shop. Just boils down to whether you trust a local shop to work on your AMG. It is obviously a much easier decision to take my Honda Odyssey to the local Goodyear shop for oil change and brake service (and save 50% in cost vs. Honda dealership) vs. doing so with a $90K AMG. Just my two cents.

I currently own a 2014 Audi S5 and prepaid $830 for all scheduled service through 45K miles. Now I know that an S5 is not the same as a C63S, so let me also share that scheduled service through 45K miles on an R8 is only $1,160. Certainly an R8 is equivalent in mechanics to a C63S. My point is Audi substantially discounts their service cost if you pay in advance whereby it seems that MB charges rack rate. Lots of upside with MB; however, this is one thing that I am not very impressed with.

Interesting. Audi PPM is definitely cheaper. I purchased my PPM 2 days ago and it was 2575 for 4 yr/40000 miles. You get an oil change with the diff change. This was a topic discussed before.

The math does not add up. I was quoted $1900 for 3 year PPM. However, out of pocket numbers here show 3 years of service would cost $1300, which includes the rear differential service. Did I miss something?

I went thru my receipts and I paid more then what some of you are saying for my 2009 C350's regular maintenance. I'm sure a C63 would be double in service costs.

It makes the BMW M3 more appealing as far is maintenace(4 years/50000 miles maintenance free) but again, they do oil changes every 10000 miles which in my opinion is ****ty
