So, did anyone drive the C43 coupe without performance exhaust and notice crackles and pops? I ordered mine without the performance exhaust assuming it would make it too loud, but I would want to add it if it doesn't crackle or pop at all without it

A member in a different thread received his c43 coupe without the perf. exhaust, and he said that there were no pops or crackles, even in sport+.

Does PE only impact the sound? Any HP or other benefits?

Very close to pulling the trigger on a C43 Sedan, but on the fence about PE. I'm a family man, with one child, but still need to tear it up now and then. Don't want to be the old dad that looks silly trying to be cool.

Can someone confirm if the car has that exhaust button in center console, means it has the performance exhaust option. Otherwise, if missing that option, there will be no button. Is that how you know? considering a used C63s and its always a fear on my mind to end up buying one without the performance exhaust!

yes that is the way to tell. all Perf exhaust have a button on the right side of the console.

If you have the Standard Exhaust, that button will just say "ON" (it's a power button for the COMAND system). It's located to the right of the touchpad/wheel.

I sat in a C43 last week that supposedly had the PE and it had the button which did go on/off but it didn't actually seem to change the exhaust sound which was weird.

Did the button say "ON" or have an icon of a dual tip exhaust?

It was the icon of the dual tip exhaust.

This particular car also didn't crap and pop off throttle.

Weird, I had the exact opposite experience. My cousin and I had a Merc Tech demo the exhaust on the C43 for us extensively and the PE with valves open was significantly more aggressive and crackly than the PE with valves closed. That being said, we didn't get a chance to hear the Sport exhaust that comes standard here in Canada, only the Performance Exhaust upgrade.

Im getting a 2017 C63 AMG without PE...as I understand even the stock exhaust gets louder depending on mode. Can you make it louder under the individual setting while keeping everything in comfort?

Losely defined, yes, but not the same as if you had the PE

Does a GLC AMG 63 without Performance Exhaust have an exhaust button on the console?

Why would it? I assume it has an empty button spot there.
