Paint Protection for C63s

Hey guys,

I just wanted to share some thoughts with you and get some feedback since you guys know better. I have recently pulled the trigger and bought myself a c63s in diamond white. the problem here is, I am not living neither in Europe nor in the US so I guess the lingo used might be different.
I'm really obsessed with keeping my car in perfect condition (exactly the look it has when its at the dealer ready for delivery at the first day). I'm looking forward to keeping my car shining like god knows how! Also, I want to protect my paint from any scratches resulting from car wash, driving on the roads for a long time, insect marks from highways, someone hitting my door while in the parking etc....

the paint protection shops around my place told me to apply a 3M clear bra, or ceramicpro nanoceramic. what would you guys recommend? someone told me that nanoceramic will fade with time and might change the color of the car as well it might hurt my original car paint with time when I think of removing it? what are your thoughts about this, please help.

Regards,

Sameul

I just installed Xpel on my car. I would go Xpel over 3M.

I reccomend doing cquartz or modesta. They are glass coatings that last for nearly 2 years!! No more need to wax all the time. Clear bra will only go over certain areas but you will need coating for the rest of your car.

Sounds good matt. But for clarification, is that like the ceramic coating like the one with ceramicpro (wondwr if u could google it to understand what im talking about). Plus, will this glass coating fade or start to become yellowish after a while? Also, how can this glass coating be removed should i decide to remove.

It is made from silica, so once it hardens it will literally be a thin layer of glass on top of your clear coat. It will not fade or become yellow, but over 2 years time it may wear and become thin, then it will be time for another coating. How long it last depends on weather and maintnence. The coating can be polished off. I suggest bringing it to a detailer and do paint correction and stack cquartz or cquartz finest to seal it. I've used a lot of different types of coatings and although opti coat and things like 22ple are great products, the finish isn't as smooth or glossy like cquartz and may not last as long.

A45, Amarok, C63s Edition 1 wagon.
+1 for Xpel. I have Xpel Ultimate on the A45 and I'll have the entire C63s wagon covered in either Xpel Ultimate or Xpel Stealth. The interior is protected with Opti-Coat, as is the paint beneath the protection film.

Hey sanch,

Thanks for the valuable participation. When did u apply ceramicpro? Do u notice any difference in the color? (my MB dealer told me the coating might turn yellowish with time) im kinda uncertain. Btw, u got any idea how it can be removed? Someone told me it can only be removed by abrasion...

I had it applied to my car a few weeks ago. There is no difference in the colour, it looks much richer with a glass like finish. I haven't washed my car since i picked it up (3 weeks) and its still quite clean. You can even notice the metallic flakes in the black paint a lot more.

My MB dealer did a paint protection on the car which was very basic and I wasn't too confident about. The place I had it done do a yearly review on the coating and fix or re-apply if needed. Keeping the car in mint condition. They can also remove it by machine if you decide you don't want it anymore.

As my car is black my biggest concern was swirl marks, this coating gives me peace of mind.

I have the same finish with Designo Diamond White and I'm doing the Ceramic Pro 9H + Ceramic Pro Light applications through my detailer as we speak. I chose this as a result of tons of research so I can report back once I see the finished product back in my possession!

great! thanks misterC! will be waiting for your reply asap :p I;ve done tons of research, yet I'm still confused! my concern is ceramicpro the brand and nothing else because if 'll go for nanoceramic/glass coating, it will most likely be ceramicpro.

fair enough.. sounds good I guess.
but my concern here is, should you want to remove it, will the original paint finish be affected? since the glass coating will literally bond with the original body paint?

From what I've seen and heard, it comes off perfectly fine. I'm sure if there were any real issues with removing it wouldn't be so popular esp with expensive cars/ super cars - as seen on YouTube

this is exactly my argument ! I feel lost and I'm so desperate to protect my car and want it in a shining condition 24/7 xD ! but in their website it says it can only be removed by abrasion which kinda screw up the whole thing...

anyway thanks bruh, can you provide us with some photos?

I see you point completely. Personally, I don't plan to remove it at all. If there are issues I'd just get it fixed and re coated

Blacked out with ceramic pro!

6 Layers of ceramic pro (external) + 2 Layers (Interior) - The finish is unbelievable!

Pics attached!

Thank you!

The inside looks exactly the same as the day I picked it up. Just 1 or 2 layers should be fine for the interior, anything more than that you might see a change.

fair enough. did you add the artico leather? or is it the standard? plus, what color are your seats? I got the platin white and black that's why I'm opting for coating the interior

I have the standard seats in white and black as well. I was worried about the white as well. Better safe than sorry.

When do you get the car? - What colour?
