Rocker Panel Trim

Hello, attached is my new 2016 Mercedes AMG C63S. I've got 30 or so miles to go before I'm through the first 1k miles, and even though I've managed to keep it in the specified break in rev limits, this thing is a monster. Mine is a Sept 2015 build and the only challenges thus far include the plastic lower trim for the driver's side seat belt, and the passenger side rocker panel trim. Does anyone know how the rocker panel trim is supposed to be held on? I was hand washing the car today and noticed its starting to pop off. More photos when we get some sun.

Quite a few have been loose and they have to be ordered and replaced.
They have to remove a panel under the car to get at the strip and it is held on by some clips and tape. Both of mine were replaced and I saw it done.

That will not happen as there are several clips and tape but they need to order you a new one.

Rocker panel trim

Both driver and passenger side rocker panel trim("night package" black) strips have separated at the top on my C63S. Both have been replaced, and now the driver side is again separating slightly. They have to have a better system on a car such as this!

Was washing my car last night and noticed the same thing on the passenger side. Trim started to come off. Now hearing all these stories of them being replaced and issue to reoccur I've order two sided trim 3M tape that has very strong bond. Will try to clean the area and reapply the tape under. This is ridiculous on 2 weeks old car.

I have first hand experience with this. See my thread on creating a night package. The rocker panel trim does not require unbolting anything. On either end of the trim are 2 clips and the entire length of the trim is held on by double stick tape. I can see how it could easily come apart but, mine was on there so tight it took three of us to pull it off. All you need to do is replace the double stick tape. Best left to have the dealer do it, but it isn't a big deal.

but you have to get behind it to put clips on after it is stuck on with the tape

Absolutely not. Heres how we did it.

Put on double stick foam tape the entire length of the part from clip to clip, about 5 feet or so. Peel about 2 inches of the foam backing up and have it stick straight up to 12 o 'clock so you can see it sticking out above the trim.

Clip in both sides and then pull the backing up and press it down as you pull away the backing. By the time you reach the end all of the backing is removed and the trim is firmly against the body of the car.

Clean both surfaces well with alcohol or painters prep solution for best adhesion

If they are loose MB will replace them and not reinstall with new tape.
He showed me the clips and they are loose so if taken off are loose behind panel and you have to take it off to put them on behind. the clips would just fall down behind panel and no way to get to them.

Can these rocker extension strip work with the c450? I'm looking at part number 2056980462. It looks like there are clips that click into the rockers but I don't see any mounting holes on mine.
