Burmeister sound system in C Coupe. Terribly crappy?!

Currently the car also has different EQ settings for certain inputs and my iPhone sounds so much better via cable then just the radio.

Reason I ask is because GLC43 I am getting has roughly the same system but it's an open cabin trunk versus a small enclosed sedan so perhaps it will have a better sound system or sound dynamics.
Is it possible to run a small 8" on the rear of the car by the amp and runs custom side enclosure built in and run it off the factory amp?

I think that sound processing is a start but a subwoofer will be needed if you change the crossover points and use the footwell woofers as described in the link. Adding a powered sub or 2 should help in that department. I think it would be a nice project to redo the whole thing. Anyone knows the size of the speakers in the footwell? Are they 6" or 6.5"?

I tested the Burmester in a C63 wagon and it was quite honestly rubbish. Was expecting it to be passable (I alread knew that it was a weak point in the car) but it wasn't at this price point. It just sounded so thin and directional. Adjustments hardly made any difference. Hope Benz improve it. The W204 is defintely superior.

Well I had 1700 watt 3D Signature Meridian in my 2014 RR Supercharged. It was out of this world good. Too bad car was lemon. I did a buy back and traded to 2015 RR autobiography that has 850 Watt Premium Meridian. I wished I had waited 3 months paid the $4500 premium to get another 3D signature. I thought the 850Watt systems not really that good.
Fast forward 2016 I get the C63S with Burmeister...
I traded in my BMW 335 with an upgraded sound HK, too bad no choice with MB but to settle for average. Suddenly the 850Watt Premium Meeridian in my Rover doesnt sound bad at all. It sounds awesome! 
Its all relative. Once you sample something better then it sucks and it wont un-suck no matter what you do as you are already spoilt.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I am in Sydney as well.....in the Burwood area.
Your setup looks very well made hence why I am also interested in getting something similar........and the fact that it sounds awesome is even better.

Just so you guys know I have the wagon so not sure if under the shelf in the boot is exactly the same in the sedan/coupe?
I did need to leave my car there which wasn't the best but it took from Monday- Wednesday as they need to create a mold for the sub box and let it dry etc.

My sister has a 2015 C250 with normal sound system, and my other sister has a 2016 C200 with Burmeister and believe it or not, the standard one sounded better to me. They are actually almost the same! I am 37 years old and still enjoy my loud music and i listen to all sorts of music from pop to hiphop to rock and even house music. The sound system in C class lacks bass which i feel is esential to any sound system. Even the bang and olufsen in my R8 is crap! No bass whatsoever, while many R8 owners praise it for clarity!
Bose in my 997 turbo is beyong great! And i remember having harmon kardon in previous cars and it was excellent too! So i dont see whats with recent cars putting stereos that are supposedly clear but have no bass! I cant imagine someone driving a C63 and listening to soft music hehehehe! Give me some bass!

Also, Mike over on the W205 forum put together a solid thread on upgrading the Burmester.
Me, I'm OK with the Burmester. While it's not amazing, it sure is better than the POS that it replaced.
