C63s vs C63 test drive differences

I have researched all the differences of the S vs C63. So this is less about spec, and more about real world driving

I was wondering how many people hear have actually tested both?
And if so, is there a noticeable performance difference with power, or handling difference with Active Engine mounts

Here is England roads are so busy, that I am wondering if a normal C63 with the Sports Exhaust and the Performance seats are more than enough?

Any help is appreciated

Having driven both and in the UK, ride quality is the same between the S and non-S. In terms of power delivery, you definitely feel the difference but its not a huge difference. There's a noticeable pause when driving off in comfort in both, but I think that's how the mode has been programmed and not an issue with turbo lag.

The main difference is thanks to the e-diff and dynamic engine mounts in the S. The S to me just felt slightly better to drive, more balanced and rear end felt more planted when cornering. Overall the differences are minimal but you can definitely notice them.

The performance seats are great, a bit snug but its a fine balance between comfortable and supportive. Ride quality is good, better than the M3/M4. the suspension is firm (even in comfort) but not overly so and damping is excellent.

I've personally gone for the S in Coupe form. Arriving in a few months. I know as you say UK roads can be busy but when you do get the chance to open up and push the car, you'll be happy you got the S.

Thank you for the reply

Yes MB are very clever; I have the old C63 and would be happy with a new one, but now there is an 'S' version.......

I sat the in the S and the with Performance seats and the carbon interior its a stunning place to be. My old car, with masses of plastic looks very cheap indeed

I am after the Estate
However Audi are doing very attractive deals on RS6 currently; and I can get an RS6 for little more than a C63s, with the C63 a decent bit cheaper

Decisions !

If you're an adrenaline addict and like to "feel" your cars/rides than a c63 would defo be a better match. RS6s are freaking fast but deliver less sensations whereas c63s' would be more lively. Useless mentioning the adrenalin fact from a 4WD to a RWD perspective (:
Id say that RS6s are heavier, wider than a c63 real estate if am not mistaken.
Tough choice as i personally prefer rs6s' looks but fan of c63s' dynamics and handling (sport wagon wise).
Test ride both thatll give u more thoughts. One thing you must do if ull go for a rs6: add to your budget a proper complete exhaust system that thing sounds like a hoover vs c63s'

Btw new c63 has its "S" version but previous models had the regular c63 but also its "performance plus" package, going from 457 to 487 hp , bigger brakes, sport diff ect. (I had the latter and the difference was noticeable indeed)
I guess Merc-AMG tricks for targetting a wider audience and billing up their machines

On the C63 vs Rs6 - I totally agree with your ride characteristics. I tried the new RS6 Performance Edition and it was unbelievably quick - materially quicker than my old C63. But it did feel much bigger, and not as connected.
The interior is nice, but the new C63 seems a more special place to sit

I have 3 boys, all under 6 and am thinking the extra rear (and boot) space of the RS6 would be useful. But am torn
I have a C63s test drive this weekend

First world problems !

I have the C63. Decided not to go with the S. Don't really have any regrets. I can live without the electronic diff and the active motor mounts. Not like I'm in competition racing where I need every competitive edge. Plus the power and tq difference is fixable with a tune and I just had the Rebellion piggy back installed three weeks ago.

I think I found it:
"S"Sonderklasse "Special class" for flagship models.

High godrealm06

What numbers are you getting from the piggy back?
I have opted for the C63 coupe with the intetention of doing the same.

Sonderklasse refers specifically to the S-Class I'm not sure what the 's' for AMG models stands for but I don't think it's the same.

I have not tuned the car yet. Won't be able to for about a month. There's definitely a power difference. Immediately you feel the car accelerate faster, you're into boost almost instantly, more smooth power delivery so there's definitely a HP I just don't know how much. I'm also on 92 octane here in Hawaii.

Decisions indeed! As others have said (and you've already experienced) the C63 will be much more engaging to drive than the RS6 and I don't think there will be a compromise in rear space since your boys are so young. If you haven't already, take one out for a test, the only way to know for sure
