My car has a VIN number. No idea what stage of production this means it is at but it didn't have one yesterday!

Saw an iridium silver coupe today with the pano roof. Silver looks sublime on the car especially with the satin chrome detail around the side windows.

However what were Benz thinking with stopping the pano roof before it reached the rear window glass??! The little square of silver painted roof looks ridiculous sitting in the middle there of the black glass. Looks like a patchwork quilt!!!!

Couldn't they have just continued the glass to the rear like the W204 coupe?

I'm in two minds about that little body coloured patch on the roof. Obviously there will be a stripe over it in my case which might make a difference. However if I don't like it I might wrap it in some gloss black.

Personally I don't like chrome trims with silver.

I saw a fully blacked out C63 coupe yesterday (very briefly). Looked pretty awesome on the road.

Yes completely agree with you on that one, however don't despair

There's an easy fix wrap or paint that section in gloss/piano black...

Also AFAIK the reason why that part is that way is because MB/AMG wanted maximum rigidity so there's structural cross brace framing there at the top rather than glass all the way through as before.

Also just for reference and correctness the 204 coupe is a C204 not W204 and same for the new 205, the coupes are C205 not W205, a lot of people on this forum don't seem to know that - mods here need to split the the 205 series apart into their own sub variants like what has been done for the A class range, the coupes are standouts in any model range and should be placed apart in their own section

I'm not very experienced with vinyl wraps - how resistant are they to bird droppings etc? I like how they simply wipe off the pano glass on my C204 (hehe thanks AV1).

I haven't had any problem with gloss black wraps. Bird droppings haven't caused any problems. I've found the surface does get those micro scratches more easily than paint and glass but in the worst case .... it is a wrap, take it off and replace it with new.

Does anyone know if you get your car protected with ceramic pro does it prohibit you from wrapping down the track??

I had a ceramic coating (Gyeon) put on my Porsche where it wasnt covered in paint protection film. I later had some of these areas wrapped with more film without any problem.

This is, in fact, a shot from the inside of an Iridium Silver Edition 1!

I am still waiting for my car to leave production where it appears to be sat, forgotten, accumulating dust and bird droppings.

Think that's happened to most UK bound C63s coupes. Mine was delayed further. I was told it was én route for the 3rd August, now they tell me the delivery date is tentative; could be anytime during the first-second week of August.

I don't want to sound like a complainant but it's just ridiculous at this point, I almost forgot I was getting a new car...

Well... Sorry you have the same problem but at least I don't feel singled out! TBH.. I would be fine if I ended up with a HUD. My concern now is no HUD and thinking I really ought to wait for 1st September.

Yep, don't worry mate, we're all in this boat together. I'm transferring my plates so not really bothered about waiting 'til September.

My concern is that there is no explanation for all these delays. That's why it's getting pretty irritating. Anyway, August is just around the corner and fingers crossed mine will be ready for pick up during the first week or so. I'd like to enjoy my car (albeit briefly) in whats left of the British "Summer"

My UK ED1 Coupe hit 'Final Inspection' yesterday, having originally been set for a July 12th build. No idea how long it's now going to take from this point.

I think some of you guys said your statuses were in transit some week or two ago, so the delays are very odd indeed!

Sounds good Dutycalls. My dealer said 7-10 days for delivery following successful final inspection.

So some news from my dealer. My car is having the interior done today apparently. Final inspection is supposed to be on the 1st. No sign of a HUD and if it isn't in today it isn't going to happen. (I resigned myself to that weeks ago tho.).

So in unsurprising news the car has been delayed for another week as it's sitting in a dockyard doing nothing! I'm going on holiday and I'm not coming back till the 23rd so might wait a week and have a 66plate.

I hate Mercedes and their shonky excuses.

Ergh... Bremerhaven? Do you know how long it's been sat there?

Mine should be hitting there soon. I wonder if they are waiting for a threshold that makes it worthwhile setting sail for the UK!

Same here, however I was called today by my dealer who said the car will definitely be here within 2 weeks. Perhaps Dutycalls is right in that they want to reach a certain amount of vehicles before sending them off to the UK.

Indeed but they don't even give excuses, its just "sorry, car is delayed for the umpteenth time, have fun waiting!" We can only hope this is the last delay we'll face.

Dealer's really don't have a huge amount of info and they certainly don't have a crystal ball. If my car fails it's final check on 1-8-16.. Well it will get delayed and may miss the big C63 AMG boat we all seem to be on

Saw a iridium silver today with the black trim around the windows. I felt it cheapened the look considerably compared to the satin chrome. I had a feeling it would. Grrrr.

Also heard the Burmeister sound system for the first time. As others have said, the C204 system is superior. The sound is clear, but lacks depth. Played around with the levels and surround and yup, unless they have given the new coupes coming off the line an update I'd say much cheaper cars are in front in that department.

For me having black window trims on a silver car is vital Silver trims just look old imo.. My RS6 had matt silver trims on a grey car. Didn't much like that either!

It's interesting that quite a few UK Coupe C63S & ED1's seem to be coming through at the same time, judging by this board! I'm pretty sure hardly any customer deliveries have come through in these Spec's, just demonstrators.

Must be some logic in why the UK has been delayed like this, when there are many examples roaming the streets of Europe.

I had similar issues with my 507, when it was due to June/July and turned up end of August.
