Interesting and informative vid well done
I think what you've suggested as the "alternative" is definitely the thing to do - it is exactly what I've done to other turbo charged cars of mine over the years ie. remove that same/similar hose and just plug off the opening...
It's worked well with no negative or backward effect on any of those cars I've done it to, hopefully it'll be the same for the new M177 engine.
As above can you make a sound clip to show off the audible effect or difference if any, with my cars that I've done the same modification to, it's definitely noticeable with a manual transmission but not so much with an auto trans, very interested to see what the result is in this case

I'm not so sure I'd want this, even if it's a free mod - mostly because I think the BOV tuner whoosh sounds out of place on an AMG, it's better suited for a big turbo tuner/JDM car. Besides, the V8 roar is all I need. If you want to hear more intake or induction noise, just install an intake - it's cheaper and will probably even yield some HP/TQ on the top end.
Also, nobody concerned that you're no longer recirculating the air back into the intakes? If you were to do a mod like this on even an older car, it would throw a CEL or have some kind of negative effect on performance because the ECU is expecting/compensating for that air those diverter valves are recirculating back.
At least on the Bosch ME7 ECU on the B5 S4 (a 15 year old car), replacing the DV's for BOV's would cause stuttering issues if it wasn't properly tuned for it. Just some food for thought as I'm sure the ECU's in the M177 are way more advanced and sensitive to these kinds of things.

I do agree with some of what AlexZTuned has stated above but at least this is not one bit as loud or pronounced as aftermarket BOV units which are purposely made with trumpet outlets to make the BOV whoosh as loudly as possible, that is not to my taste either.

You said it " OLD CARs". our cars do not have the Honeycomb MAF sensors so your statement doesn't apply in our engines. No side effects/Cels/ or problems.
In the test video I accelerated the car and released the gas before shifting so that you guys can hear the valves opening and closing. if you drive normal or even under hard acceleration you will not hear the valves as the car shifts are very fast. In other words; for the valves to release air as strong as in the video you need to build boost and then let go of the gas pedal(close the TB).

In the Weistec kit the valves stay in place and all you do is replace the hose from the valve to the intake with the plug and adapter

seems like they both accomplish the same thing in very different ways. Not sure if there is any benefit on one vs the other, i do think the Weistec are louder.

Make sure if you remove the hoses to play around as MATT11212 dad, that you cap the intake pipe. that section of the intake is POST filter so if you suck something in there its going straight into the turbo.

Nice I like it, it's not an "in your face" or super loud BOV sound and not that pronounced either and just as I thought it would be with an auto trans if it were a manual there would definitely be more blow off because of the manual pedals shift action - have you noticed any negative effects ?

Hey guys, so i got the weistec kit for my coupe and im struggling to remove the damn bolts, i think i may have stripped them but i stopped just incase i do more damage, my torx keys are quite old and damaged so im going to buy more tomorrow.
right now ive removed the pipes from the intake and the plastic divertor thing. And blanked off the intake inlets.
now what is the difference between leaving the black plastic bits or replacing them with the spacers. Do the spacers really actually do anything? Or can i leave as is?

Narcogp I hope all goes well for you. I ordered mine and I am awaiting for it to come in. When you can post a vid of it. I don't think anyone has them or videos atleast of the weistec vta.

Okay the new torx wrenches work however i cannot for the life of me reach two of the bolts, there is no room to work at all or Oneven get the trox key in there. Anyone got suggestions?
