BMW is offering something like 10 different shades of just blue alone and tons of other colors for the M3 and C63 has something like 10 colors in total to choose from? Why?
In addition to that there are lots of M-performance extra parts to choose from too. Mercedes is slacking big time with the new C63. The overall design of the new C-class doesn't look good either. It looks way to conservative. They should have kept going with the boxish retro look from the W204 and maybe added some curves to it like BMW has done for the M3.
I'm sorry but I'm going for the M3 or M4.

For every one of you they loose, they gain two of us.
In all seriousness, I agree a lot with you. I am a 20yr un-broken streak BMW 3 owner, and I couldn't get myself to get the M3 or M4 despite a couple test drives and having waited a long time intending to snag one of those. In the end I chose the C63S after a test drive despite the things I dislike. A couple of fellow BMW enthusiasts were with me when I went to pick up my new ride and both are leaning towards Merc for next rides when time comes. Am just saying there are people to whom this car is appealing to and that includes BMW die hards like me. Still love BMW, but I gotta hand it to AMG on this one.

i wish there were a few more colors to choose from as well, but i love the design of the c63 coupe exterior (not a fan of the sedan). i'm not sure what you mean by lots of m-performance extra parts; i think the options are pretty similar between the m3/m4 and the c63. and there are many things, such as the interior and the exhaust note, that one could give the edge to the c63 over the m3/m4.
i dunno; i've strongly considered getting an m3 for its practicality, especially when the competition package was added as an option, but, between the c63 coupe and the m4, i'd choose the c63 coupe without hesitation.
not to discount the reasons for you choosing the m3 or m4 though. those are valid reasons, imho, since they are pretty on par performance-wise. i chose the c63 coupe for the same reasons. the color i chose was pretty much what i wanted for the car, so the lack of color options didn't bother me, and i think it's a slightly more beautiful car than the m4. so yeah, good luck with the m3 or m4. i'd let you drive my c63 coupe if you let me drive your m3.

To address your post: The only blue available on the M3/M4 is Yas Marina Blue. They don't offer the other blue colors as standard choices; sadly no LeMans Blue, Estoril Blue, etc unless you want to pay I believe $5k for an individual exterior color. I agree the design is conservative. The front actually looks quite good, just the rear is where I am not a big fan of the W205 C63. But the sound, interior, and features of the C63 is IMHO vastly superior to the M3/M4. Enjoy the M car! I have had many M cars, with this being my first MB as the M3/M4 just didn't cut it when I test drove them.

As I said, first MB here. Always thought of MB as an old peoples mobile..
But have to say that one test drive and quick decision afterwards has not led to any regret yet. This car is just so much Win.
As much of a BMW guy as I am, you have to hand it to AMG. They have the better real world car this time around.

Yes I agree with the comment about the lack of colour options and it's even worse here in Australia where we're also restricted to the magno grey with yellow decals for the Ed.1.
However the lack of colour options is heavily outweighed by the better sound of this car and higher standard interior than the M3/4 can offer IMHO.
I too have been a BMW customer for a long time but the interior is now just becoming a bit boring and even nearly cheapened with all the same polished wood and plastic like interior trims. Sure you can throw in some carbon there to spice it up, but compared to what MB offers now they're miles behind.
I'm sure MB have also won a lot of people over purely from the sound the car makes (seeing that makes up such a large part of the pleasure you get rom driving IMO).
When I did my test drive of the C63 S coupe the other week we all had a laugh as we drove past the BMW dealership (which is on the same road as MB and directly opposite them) because the guys in their showroom must just cringe every time they see someone coming pass at the end of their test drive and they just happen to give it one last boot full before pulling into the MB driveway.
I guess that's why BMW has had to drop their prices as much as they have (in Australia anyway) to compete with a bit of a shift of customers from them over to MB.
Anyway just my 2 cents and to each their own. It's great seeing the bar being lifted anyway and who knows BMW might fire back with something in their next models.

I can barely decide between black, white, grey, silver or white. Maybe blue. The last thing I want is 10 ****ing shades of blue to have to chose between...Christ that would be a nightmare.

Sometimes simplicity is key - I think the MB AMG colors offered are better than BMW. It's just unfortunate that in Australia we are limited (compared to other markets)

Pretty sure you can order different colors from MB under the designo studio, which brings the color choices to a much broader range. The problem of course, is you're doing a custom order and it'll take months.
