Turning up the wick on the C63 s

I'm strongly considering ordering a 2017 C63 s coupe, and despite my research, I have not been able to determine what MB does to up the engine hp and torque on the 63 s model versus the base C63 model. Is it as simple as a boost adjustment, or is there more to the equation?

It's just a more aggressive tune. Everything else is the same

Not sure what is "tuned" to make that type of power difference. Timing, sure, but that won't account for the difference. I assume cam and internals are the same. Boost is the only other variable I can think of that might account for the power spike. What else might be "tuned"?

I'm sure the ECU is involved, but the "tune" has to be adjusting certain engine parameters to effect the power increase. Not a huge deal as the S model carries other worthwhile improvements, but I'm just curious how MB bumps the power. I'm thinking it's primarily a boost bump, courtesy of the ECU.
