HUD-New VS Old

There have been quite a few posts about this so having both I'd show everyone the difference.

I had the straight bar style in my 2015 Sedan and now have the curved bar in 2017 Coupe.

Personally, I preferred the straight bar... The curved one takes up most of your vision. But again personal preference.

I usually love new stuff, but for some reason in this new case, I prefer the straight bar also (which luckily I have).

I would be great if there was an option to choose between them.

Very much so. Does it still display the speed limits?

Unfortunately, I don't think any of the Australian models do.

HUD with sunglasses?

I have the new 2017 C63S coupe w/ HUD. Compared to my previous car (BMW), I find even non-polarized sunglasses wash out the HUD display and make it hard to read. Any experience/suggestions on what sunglasses work best on the MB HUD? Thanks!

None of my sunnies cause any issue with the HUD... (RayBans and Oakleys)
Do you have it on its brightest setting?
Also in the engineering mode you can adjust the HUD position shape and form which may help.
And only other thing i can think of is ensuring the inside of the glass is clean (simply to remove another variable)...

Mine's fine with my sunglasses... you might need to make it brighter and move the position of the display.

I have polarized Oakleys and the HUD is washed out even on the brightest setting.

Someone mentioned before that they have non-polarized Oakleys and they have no problem.

Yes, polarized sunglasses do not pair well with HUD's.

I actually prefer the new curved style HUD - I like the labeled RPM's. The original straight bar RPM doesn't really tell you anything, it's just a bunch of unlabeled tick marks and a redline.

The UK ones do. Shows RPM, gear, current speed and any detected speed limits/restrictions.

In the 17, can you cycle between the flat and curved?
