Coupe question: Sport vs Performance seats

I'm 6'2" and drove an Edition1 coupe the other day with the performance seats. I had the seat in its lowest possible setting front and rear and my head was very, very close to the ceiling. Would sport seats sit lower, higher or the same?
Trying to figure out what would make sense for me. The sport do have the ventilation option which is nice but that performance felt really nice.

I was also surprised that when the dealer went to adjust and move the seat up and forward to park the car, the headrest (which is very high on the performance seat) made contact with the roof and stopped the seat moving forward.

I am 6 feet and I chose the performance seats. I drive with it on the lowest setting and I have tons of clearance above my head lol. Honestly the performance seats are worth it just for the looks alone. I am actually surprised at how comfortable they are.

I'm 6'3 and I sat in c63 coupe yesterday and my head was just touching the ceiling. I dont think this car is for anyone above 6 feet tall.
Unfortunately for that reason alone I will be getting the sedan.

I had the sports seats in my sedan and now have the performance seats in the coupe... it took some getting used to but I love them now. They are actually quite comfortable.

The performance seats are uncomfortable. I'm 6'3, slim athletic build but my lower back hurts at times. It also gets worse and worse during a long road trip. To be honest, I prefer the seats on my C300 loaner....

I've driven it for two days now and I am actually surprised how comfortable the performance seats are. I should say I'm not a tall guy by any means though, under 6". You also can't beat the looks of them with the yellow stitching.

This seems a little unusual. Maybe something was wrong with that seat placement or something?

I am 6'4" and drove a C300 coupe (with standard seats) prior to placing my order and had plenty of headroom. I don't think the models will be much different. I did order the standard (non-performance) seats because I expected they may be more comfortable for longer drives. If my head doesn't fit when my car arrives I guess I'll refuse delivery!

Perhaps there are some tall people out there who already have their coupes?

I'm 6' and chose the sport seats simply due to kids not liking the performance seats as much when in back. I like them and was not much of a sacrifice at all. Plus saved a little $

Did it have the panoramic roof? Not sure if that cuts down on headroom.

It did. I think all the 2017s have the panoramic sunroof.

Now my head did brush the roof when I sat in the back seat...

I was surprised when I placed my coupe order that the panoramic roof wasn't "available." After rereading the AMG site, it is standard on the '17 C63 Coupe. Oops.

You might find it difficult with standard seats. The performance seats sits lower due to the way they are made (super thin). I am 6ft2.5 and just manage. My friend is 6ft3 (long legs with short hands) and he just touches the top.
Good luck with that.

I'm 6'3 and my head is not near the roof in either seats, personally I have the sport seats and find them very comfortable.

According to the Mercedes "AMG C43, C63, C63S Ordering Guide" for Model Year 2017, the Panorama Roof is a standalone option (#413) at a cost of $1.480.00.

I have the C43 with the regular leather seats and I also have a CLA45 AMG with the Ricaros and the seats in the 43 are way more comfortable but the seats in the 45 hold you in better. There is a compromise.

I am 6'1" and had Ricaros in my 2015 C 63S. Turned it in on the new 2017 C63 coupe that I ordered with w Sport seats and Tex/Dinamica interior. I found the Ricaros in the C63S very narrow and uncomfortable especially on the interstate. Love the l fabric, living in Fl, cooler in the summer. The tex looks exactly like leather with out the wear and maintenance. The Ricaros were already showing wear in the driver bolsters and seat after only 1 1/2 years. I found the coupe more comfortable, front seat goes back further and the wider door easier enter and exit. Also check the specs, Coupe is 1.5 " lower than the Sedan but I can not tell any difference in head room, seat seems lower lower to the ground than the coupe getting in and out.
Also, the coupe seems to handles better and in driving performance see no difference between the C 63S and C 63 power for everyday aggressive driving. 0-60 is 3.8 vs 3.9 sec , seem identical. I stayed w 18" wheels, love the rims and definitely smoother on highway, less road noise and feeling every bump. Handle every bit as well as the 19". I am sure a weekend car club driver would see the extra 34 hp and 19" wheels, I cannot now having owner both.

This may sound crazy, since I bought this car first and foremost as a sports car, but I opted for the standard sports seats over the performance seats primarily due to:
1) i couldn't stand the headrest adjustment switch on the door is fixed and just for show, since there is no headrest to move; and
2) you cannot get ventilated seats w/ the performance seat option, which bothers me due to a) the blank switch next to the heating switch; and b) I actually want and use the ventilated seats.

Just to verify what I asked in the other thread - all coupes have the pano roof correct? I'd love to see if I fit in one without it.

Correct. Pano roof is standard equipment on all 2017 coupes, AMG and non-AMG. Listed as such in the Dealer Order Guide.

Do you find the performance seats in your new coupe do not go as low as the sport seats in your past sedan? Do you find your self sitting higher in the performance seats?

Yes, they definitely sit higher -Which isn't a problem for me as I'm only 5'10ish. The seating position on the lowest is perfect for me.

But I can see it being an issue if you are 6'2 and over...

Thanks for reply! I just had my first chance to sit in the performance seats as my dealer had a unit come in with them ( test drove a sedan with the sport seats when I ordered ) ... Im 6'1" and am right on the line, really even over the line, of feeling Im sitting to high in the performance seat : ( sad cause I really want them as to me they set the car off.
