Do you need Tune with Downpipes?

So i'm trying to get Downpipes for my c63s and Im not really sure if i need a tune with it. Yes I know there will be no noticeable power difference but want to make it louder. Don't have the money for both. Do I NEED it and what could happen if i don't

You will have a CEL if you have downpipes without a tune. Sound is incredible tho.

I made a post earlier about Supersprint downpipes, but didnt get much of a reaction. These downpipes are catless.... does this increase the sound by much if the rest of the exhaust is stock?

I have the standard AMG performance exhaust.

Cheers,
Scar

Is that all though. Because the installer is an AMG Performance center so Im sure they can remove that code or something.

Yes i'm sure it does because there are only 2 sets of cats in this exhaust system. Primary which are the DP and the secondary don't do much

Just removing the CEL doesn't do anything, as the next time you start up, the ECU will not get a signal from the cat sensor and throw the code again.

You either need a tune to disable the CEL, or O2 sensor eliminators which moves the post-cat O2 sensors out of the exhaust path. I'm not even sure if the second choice exists for us.

If you want it louder just do a muffler delete and go straight pipes in its place

Any good exhaust shop should be able to custom fab one for you.. but now that you're on this route, you may as well get a full exhaust system for the price you'd pay for a DP and custom midpipe/2nd cat delete.

Sure, as long as you split the cost of the labor to remove them.

PM me your best offer. I'm serious. Will only accept if it makes sense.
