c63 sedan vs c63 coupe

Hello fellow car lovers,
I'm on edge of getting the c63 coupe but I got a better deal on the sedan. For those who drove both or own, my question is the c63 coupe better than the sedan in terms of comfort from the new rear suspension? and will the handling and drive feel (more planted) be noticeable on public roads? since I won't be tracking. What do you guys think? will I regret getting the sedan over the coupe. back seat is a plus but I don't need it

They are both amazing cars, I've owned both.

If you don't need the extra 2 doors, go for the coupe.

Its IMO a lot more fun.

Get the coupe unless you need the two extra doors and more legroom in back.

(I needed both.)

Coupe is definitely more comfortable/compliant than the sedan.

Coupe definitely handles better/more planted than the sedan.

Sedan is cheaper than the coupe in all Countries.

If you don't need the back seats and the extra cost is of no concern then it's a no brainer - get the coupe

To reinforce what everyone else said; if you're not bothered about rear seat space and can afford it, the coupe is a no brainer: looks better, smoother ride comfort and handles better

thank you fellow! I'm 100% on the coupe. There's a c63 edition 1 coupe at my dealership but the seat belt presenter on the driver side wasn't working & the driver seat recline/incline didn't work either. Everything work perfectly on the passenger side. Turn the car on and back off again the seat work again but seat belt presenter didn't even when I pressed the presenter button. Told the sales man, dealer is going to fix it but i'm scare to buy it now that there might be more annoying problems. Is it a good idea to buy this one?

Not popular opinion.

But I actually think the sedan looks better. Saw an coupe edition one side by side with a white sedan and the sedan just looked beefy and planted to the ground.

The coupe has some non-flattering angles, IMO.

Good choice my man... I found the pic of my old sedan with the new coupe.

My car is black so you can't see the lines of the car in the pictures it looks better in the flesh.

This is will give you a good comparison

Not mentioned above, but I saw somewhere that the coupe has different final gear ratio that makes the coupe faster.

2016 C63 Wagon
According to the AMG Website, the gear ratios between the sedan, wagon and coupe are identical.

https://www.mercedes-amg.com/c63es.p...ations_section

https://www.mercedes-amg.com/c63cs.p...ations_section

The Coupe is heavier than the sedan - its actually the same weight as the wagon.
Yet the Coupe does 0-100 in 3.9, the sedan in 4.0 and the wagon in 4.1.
What changes did they make to the coupe to make it faster? Does it simply come down to having 285 rear tyres instead of the smaller 265 tyres, therefore better grip and a faster 0-100 time?

"AMG eagerly points out that the C63 coupe is not just a C63 sedan with two fewer doors. Engineers in Affalterbach gifted the coupe a shorter final-drive ratio—3.06:1 in the two-door versus 2.85:1 in the sedan—for quicker acceleration."

The final drive ratio is the rear differential. Specs above are for the transmission only.

it might be the tires, but the skeptic in me thinks it's just a marketing ploy and that there's no actual difference between the coupe and the sedan in the 0 to 60.

I had one of the first 2015 sedans and faced quite a few issues with it so changed over when the coupe was first announced.

Also, I didn't need 4 doors and the coupe looked much more aggressive imo.

I also have owned both. Order the Coupe!!!
As advised, if you do not need a back seat. Much nicer lines and to me handles better. I ordered the C63 instead of the C 63S because the following options were not available on the S. I found the 19" wheels on the sedan had a rough ride and noise even in the comfort mode. I wanted 18" wheels on the coupe, love the rims and a much soother and quieter ride. I cannot tell differences in handling. My sedan also had Performance seats, very uncomfortable on long interstate diving, and i wanted Tex/Dinamica seats, love the fabric, cooler and very comfortable. Also no leather maintenance and wear which was already showing up on my S. Also recommend P3 package, lights upgrade and distronics are awesome, heads up display and exhaust options.
In aggressive driving I cannot tell any difference in performance between the C63S and the C 63, 3.8 vs 3.9 0-60 is about the same to me. I an sure if you are a car club weekend racer you would enjoy the S w/ Ricario seat.
My coupe is currently in a body shop removing the rear bumper bumps removed. $800 expense, They had to Go !!! Hope this helps.

Thank You everyone! Put in an order for the coupe schedule for may delivery.. I was at the dealer earlier and saw the e43 and man that interior is stunning. I'm having second thoughts lol, might just switch to an e63. I'm not rich and its going to be a stretch but man the E63 is going to be crazy plus the practicality of awd. Wish i can have both! hahah

I have owner both
2015 C63S sedan and a 2017 C63 coupe
BUY THE COUPE !!!
The handling and appearance both nicer. I bought the 2015 C63S Sedan only because a coupe was not available.
Coupe has more front seat front to back range. Also does feel not feel as top heavy.
When the 2017 coupe was available to order, I changed the build from the C63S.sedan.
Ordered a C63.Coupe I found the difference between 0-60 3.9 vs 3.8 not noticeable,
The S had too firm a ride .for around town driving due to a little slit stiffer suspension but both identical in sport mode .
Also had the rear bumper bumps removed. They are not on the sedan.
Deleted the sport seats, also uncomfortable for every day use.
It like Blondes vs Brunettes - both ride great , which looks best for you.
No wrong choice.see attached
John
