Quick hello and feedback on C63s Coupe required
Hi Guys,
Long-time reader first time poster. I’ve been going through the forums and have spent countless hours researching C63s coupe.
Firstly I don’t have any brand loyalty. All my previous vehicles have been different makes and models and generally had to fit 3 criteria, which were Performance, Quality and Reliability.
I currently own 2015 Lexus IS350 Fsport and was planning to move up to 2017 RCF (5.0L V8) in the next few months but then made the mistake of driving my brother-in-laws 2016 C63s sedan. I was gobsmacked with the outright brute horsepower and torque.
I am bit of a modder so the way I look at it, MB’s M177 motor already has a head start considering its twin turbo whereas Lexus’ 2UR-GSE is naturally aspirated.
Long story short, we are now buying 3 x C63s Coupes and 1 x C43 Sedan so due to bulk deal, we are receiving some very attractive quotes. We’ve been advised a Sydney SA that it would take 4 months to order a coupe if it’s a custom order.
Based on the forums, it appears C63s assembled in U.S are experiencing fair bit of reliability issues whereas it’s my understanding C63s we receive in Australia are from Germany are not.
So this question is based towards Australian (even UK) based members, how do you honestly rate your $180k+ car? I understand all owners are passionate about their cars and comments can be biased. I personally think rattling coming from a $180k+ is not acceptable, hell I don’t think it’s acceptable even from a $20k car.
Can the coupe owners possibly list all the issues they have experienced thus far with their cars?
I haven’t been clinically diagnosed but I am sure I might have certain degree of OCD so things such as rattling will annoy the hell out of me. In my bro-in-laws case, when his 63 had around 400KM, all brakes on the car got locked so the car had to be towed to dealership. MB came up with some same lame excuse stating the car’s brakes reached a certain temperature so for safety reasons the brakes got locked. Which is a complete BS excuse considering the day in questions, the car was driven less then 4KM at 60KM/H
Another trend I’ve noticed is that it appears sedan owners are having more issues then coupe owners, why would this be? One would think both models are assembled at the same place (either U.S or Germany), the level of QC should be same across the board but it’s not the case.
Also on a side note, I am quite impressed with MBWorld forum community which appears to be at another level when compared to forums of other makes/models.

I was making a deal on the c63s edition 1 coupe that has just arrived at my local dealer. sat in it and noticed that the seat recline/incline didn't work and seat belt presenter didn't work on the driver side but everything on the passenger side work perfectly. I'm in north america

Again, they assemble c63 sedans in the US. I promise. Someone else had this discussion a while ago on here with me and then after looking around realized that I was right. The parts are shipped from Germany but they actually assemble the cars here.
