After your C63 ... what car is next (keep it in the Mercedes Line up)

I was in a conversation today where a few co-workers were looking at my car. The question came up "When your done with your C63 S, what's your next Mercedes going to be"?

I thought it was an interesting question and would pose it to the group.

So, when your ready to move out of your C63/C63 S, what's likely to be your next Mercedes?

Thanks!

For my family, definitely the S63 AMG. My mom loves massage seats.
I'm also very interested in the 2018 model yr G63 AMG.

I'm not a fan of the AMG GT-R, at least not until I give it a drive.

2009 ML63 AMG, 2013 GLK350, 2014 C63 AMG 507
Thats a great question but also a difficult one to answer. Ive had my W204 C63 507 for about 2 years now and its been a great car. it has all the of what you would want in sports car, big engine, the noise drama, rear wheel drive for smokey burnouts. It has everything that i love and enjoy in car. I have driven the W205 C63S, it a nice car, has all the amenities, still great car overall, although the exhaust note is not even close to what the w204 had. Anyways to answer the question, the sky is the limit with a Mercedes. Ive been recently looking to replace my older Ml63 and Glk350, and there are lots of options in the Mercedes line up as well other brands. For this question specifically if were to replace the C63/C63S, depending on how much you would like to spend, i would look to the other AMG models. A perfect replacement in my eyes would something like an AMG GTS. the AMG GTS has amazing styling and presence, power and exclusivity relative to other Mercedes. It has the same amount of horses although its down on torque, but thats easily fixable with an ecu tune or an exhaust. If you want more power and you have a higher budget you could with something like the AMG GTC or the AMG GT-R. Another replacement vehicle could be the E63 S AMG sedan. Not only does have he amazing amount of power, you can drift with the new drift if so choose. its a step up form the C63/C63S to the mid range AMG. Its a step into something that is bigger but also better with its twin scroll turbos, higher horsepower more space etc. Another potential replacement in the same range would the CLS63 S AMG either new one when Mercedes releases it or the current one with the M157 motor. Finally if you really wanted to step it up another notch, you could go with an S63 AMG/ S63 AMG Coupe or even an S65/S65 Coupe if the budget allows it. The M157 in the S63 is great upgrade in my opinion from the M177 or M178 motors in the new C63S/ AMG GT/E63 etc. the M157 sounds so much better, and very close to the M156/M159 engines. Anyways it has great horsepower but an insane amount of torque, 577Hp and 664lb Ft of torque. The horsepower maybe down from the new E63 W213, but the torque is higher. Not mention the S class coupes, C217, are rare. It would add to exclusivity. Sorry my answer is long winded. But to conclude, If I personally would replace my C63/C63S the replacement considerations would in this order.
1) S63/S65 Coupe
2) E63 S AMG
3) AMG GTS
4) SL63 AMG
If your looking a new replacement vehicle theses would excellent. If you have the means to go for the S Class Coupe/ Cabriolet that would be the best upgrade, although pricey, its worth the money. The E63 S AMG would be my second choice, for a sedan its nicely equipped, has the power to back it up and overall great car. The 3rd and 4th cars the GT and the SL would be considerations aswell, the GT for something fun and sport like the C63/ C63 s and the SL also great car overall. If your looking for a replacement from the used market, and you had lots of money to spend and awesome upgrade, would an SLS AMG.
I personally would love theses cars an upgrade, however im not ready just yet to part with my C63 507, its great car, I love it, its fun loud brash etc. If I had to bring a potential car replacement option to your co workers, the cars above, depending on budget, would be great replacements. Each car has its pros and cons, but all in all the are great. I would also, like to say that you should stay with a V8 no matter what choose from Mercedes, even the V12s are nice to go for. I would stay away from the “43 AMG” because there not really true AMG’s in my personal opinion They are a bridge between the regular cars and the true AMG’s. im not saying that they aren’t any good, but I personally prefer a V8 over V6, although with tuning you could good performance out of the motors.
Sorry its long winded. But it is a great question and I hope this helps.
Cheers

So pretty much EVERY single car reviewer that has gotten behind the wheel has creamed there pants more than ^^that guy over this question and that is still not good enough for you? You have to drive it yourself to truly make an opinion? Good luck on test driving it BTW.

Way mad. Pissed even LOL.

I just find it comical that you're making noob posts about exhausts on one end then over here you're "not sold" on the GT-R without your expert driving opinion.

It's definitely a tough question, this car (in it's league) is the best I have come across.

Mercedes are bringing out new cars like there is no tomorrow... so the car I'll probably be changing to isn't event out yet haha...

But from the current AMG lineup I would have to say the S63/S65 Coupe - It's next level in performance and luxury.

I may be moving to Singapore in the next year or so, so I may actually be answering this question sooner rather than later. Given the fact that I'll really only be able to have one car in Singapore. Between price, and the single car port I get for the 'house' I'm buying, I'll probably end up either with another C63S sedan. It just ends up ticking the marks for my family and hooligan needs.

However, I think my wife would prefer we get a Panamera.

If I stay in the AMG family, then most likely the new E63 S coming out or potentially the GTC if a coupe model is released. I can't really do convertibles in Houston as it's too hot and humid most of the year to drive with the top down.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^rude. At 29 years old, we will take you with an enormous grain of salt (lake city). And learn how to spell if you're going to write critical comments. Typos are amateur night. BTW: I'm not mad but instead, amused.

The OP's question is a good one. I will give it a bit of thought although I'm pretty sure it will be an E Clasd Coupe in one flavor or another.

I see nothing wrong with your question. I sold my 2012 W204 a couple of years ago and bought a new 991S. I liked the car but it was impractical so I bought an E400 coupe in 2015. That is a good car but I do miss the exhaust noise of that big V8.
I will probably buy another C63 when the new model is released but until then the E400 has enough poke and ride comfort to keep me happy given I don't get above 60km/h due to traffic on my trip to and from home/work each day.

If life keeps going to plan a AMG GT.

The only thing I am missing is 4WD. I wonder what Audi will do when they renew the current RS5?

Hmmmm.....realistically (I know - DUH!, what else, right?. Suffice to say:

Caviar mind = New current generation E63 AMG Estate

Cornbread pocket = E400 Estate..... with aftermarket ECU upgrade, among other upgrades/enhancements. Totally doable.

Also one of my favorites, I hear they will to the same ole same ole, essentially, minus the V8.......but using the 2.9 TT V-6 from the Panamera 4S.

Next model for me would be a four door and although I'm very impressed with the new Panamera it'll probably be the new E63S. I mean; essentially supercar levels of performance with the manageable size and comfort of an E Class? Sign me up

If I was to replace my coupe though, I'd go for the upcoming GTC coupe.
