C63S EDITION 1
Has anyone thought about or tried to cut the stock DP with enough lip to have a machine/muffler shop weld some clamp to them. Essential making your stock DP "two piece" that can be put back o in the event you need them, with out dropping the transmission?

I've heard the PE exhaust paired with DP and I wasn't impressed. It didn't sound smooth or what I normally would I would like to hear. I think my Eisenmann system sounds deeper and smoother under load.

I just wanted to bring this thread back into discussion as I'm in the market now for tuning to stage 2.

What companies are supplying Right Hand Drive 2 piece dump pipes?

Links, info, pricing and pictures would be great.

And to piggyback, anyone with catless DPs have any regrets? I've read 1-2 posts about it being raspy and not sounding that nice. And obviously there will be a fuel smell; expected. Wondering if anyone went from high flow cat DP to catless, or visa versa? I'm leaning toward the high flow cat direction, but also like it loud...

from what ive been reading, a secondary cat delete can give you some extra sound too and it wont be raspy either. Im in a similar position where id like my car to be louder but still maintain that throaty c8 sound.

I already have the 2nd cat delete, and it's much louder and throatier than stock, but I'd want it even louder. Not sure what the gains would be from a DP with high flow cat when already having removed my secondary cats...

with the cat delete do you get those pops and crackles in other driving modes or are those still only in S+?

98% of my driving is to and from work, which almost all on the highway. So believe it or not, I rarely ever use Sport+ mode. And Comfort mode with open valves is loud, but not riddled with pops and crackles.

Keep in mind, an open exhaust isn't/shouldn't be what gets you the pops and crackles. What those are are backfires. Excess unburnt fuel dumped into the exhaust after you've let off the throttle. The exhaust is hot, so it ignites, causing an explosion, and hence the loud pops you hear. AMG has simply actually tuned for this to happen. So when you go into Sport+ mode, not only is it a much more aggressive fuel map (for more power), but it allows for that overfuel delivery to allow for the backfires in the exhaust.

Yes, every now and again with hard acceleration followed by unexpected deceleration you may get a pop here and there. But you won't get it without the tuning.

And if you run straight open pipes, there won't be a restriction (cat), so you'll end up with fireballs and even flames (depends on just how much fuel you're burning/wasting).
