My shop replaced mine with bent 3” 304 stainless and it took roughly 1.75 hours.

Pm if you need a good shop in SoCal.
I'm also in socal, which shop did you go with?

You've got four options.

🔹 Hi tech mufflers in Darlinghurst: $1000
🔹 International Auto-haus in Rockdale $900
🔹 Autowerks Beverly Hills $800
🔹 Western Mufflers in Fairfield $250

You get what you pay for though and International Auto-haus is where I got mine. I chose them instead of the cheaper guys because they do all the work on my car and will do a good job without cutting your heat shield or any fu*king around.

Awesome @Jimmy_c63s , I will give International Auto-Haus a call next week. I was concerned about finding someone who will do the work properly so thanks for the recommendation.

I have done this, much better sound was the result. The car was dyno'd after but that dyno also included a ECU/TCU tune so hard to gives specifics on how the 2nd Cat delete helped but in saying that, it would have improved flow, much angrier sounding, no drone and I'm certainly happy it was done.

It definitely goes harder when you nail it especially in 3rd gear all the way up to redline with exhaust open or closed, you're not imagining it.

How good is it though? Car can be so quiet when you want it to then totally transform into a riot with some downshifting and acceleration 🙉

It's rude.

theres alot of good info in here on what it sounds like with the second cats gone. theres too many damn pages in this thread so i didnt read the entire thing. does anyone have any experience with doing a muffler delete on the C63?? or experience doing the second cat delete AND a muffler delete?? im wondering what it does to the sound. too raspy? too poppy? any deeper?(lower pitch) or even better than just the cat delete???

i ask becasue im coming from another car a 6.2L V8 an instead of doin a whole cat back exhaust system i just cut the mufflers out an put straight pipes to the exhaust tips. cost 0$ and REALLY wakes up the sounds of the car. def more burble an pops but it just raises the exhaust volume by alot, sounds better, deeper an more powerful overall. im wanting to see if it does the same with the C63. or if its too raspy/poppy..... any info helps thanks.

I wanted to do it, but my nearest dealership have been very honest and clear that if I do anything to do the OEM downpipe, they will unfortunately have to flag the car. They did mention it is a soft flag, in the sense they will just record it in the system I have done it. But once the car is flagged, all my warranty work will have to be approved before they can be performed.

This sounds like a massive headache just to do a secondary delete. So I have come up with another plan, I am in the process of buying a used set of pre facelift OEM downpipe. Once I have that, I will be gutting OEM Secondary CAT, but this creates it’s own issues. An empty secondary cat is going to create a lot of back pressure (counter intuitive I know). So, to get around this, I will have to weld a straight pipe into the secondary cat. Once all this is done, I will install it back into the car and not visit the dealership for a few months until the weld browns and blends. After that they should not technically have any idea.

2021 with Pre-facelift downpipes

I just swapped my Edition 1 for a 2021. Can anyone please share any video representative of what their car sounds like inside and out with pre-facelift downpipes on a facelift car? Thanks.

I've never seen this being done on a facelift C63, might be a difficult job that is not worth it (might as well get aftermarket downpipes considering the labor cost). However, if you want a cheap OEM like way to get your car sounding like the pre-facelift, I suggest you do a secondary cat delete. I did one on mine and it really wakes the car up. I would say the sound is comparable to a stock pre-facelift.

excellent information friend, do you know of someone who has removed the primary catalyst too? because I only hear that they eliminate the secondary, I want to eliminate both. .

Removing the primary cats + secondary cats in W205 makes it catless downpipes.

Here's Weistec catless downpipes as an example vs stock
