Swapping center console trim
Hi:
My C63 has now arrived! I love it.
Unfortunately, I am not so in love with the glass fibre trim I ordered and probably should have gone for the black carbon fibre trim. It is amazing looking but it is a bit too bright for me (maybe it will grow on me?)
If I manage to source the alternate trim is it an easy swap? I see mercteil have it, not really sure where to look (UK based)

There are a few videos on Youtube and guide on this site somewhere.
Seems like once you get the black armrest compartment bracket off its a easy-ish job.
I've got the standard gloss back arriving in my car (as it had already finished production when I picked up the order) so also weighing up my options on replacing the whole thing and adding the clock as well OR just getting it hydro dipped...
There was a carbon center console on UK Ebay a few weeks back.

If someone wanted a swap (it's the standard black CF that I would go for) I'd be up for discussing that. I'm in south-east UK

Fibre class lights up the cabin
I got the Fibre glass over carbon fibre. I love Carbon Fire too. But Fibre glass just lift up the dark cabin. It is bright and looks nice with Red Pepper combo that I got. I thought the cabin would have been very dark without FiBre glass.

It's growing on me now. I think my initial impressions were not helped by the fact that there is a fault on the CF under the lacquer, my local dealer have taken photos and sent to Mercedes about a warranty claim (it should be!)

including purchasing the new OEM trim...
MB was backordered on the black ash wood trim for months, had to settle for piano black

Has your on order car been locked in aka not changeable anymore? The Ash wood trim is now available as of last week... my dealer called to let me know and made the change, car was locked yesterday, goes into build Feb 1st ... you should call your sales associate and see if it can be changed

I wish - I checked every week til production was locked. my car made it onto a boat across the pond this Tuesday so im afraid its too late.
