Today i got my c63s coupe blacked out but only one thing hey couldn't do the emblem because its glassed. Anyone have any idea how can i get it blacked out.

 

Looks great, I'd love to see more pics. What do you mean glassed? I'm only familiar with the 204, and mine wasn't a problem.

 

You might be able to tint it, but I would be careful as that would mess with the sensor behind there. Otherwise I think you'd be looking at a custom piece to put in there.

I personally blacked out the front grill, but left the whole emblem alone including the chrome ring.

 

The sensors for the adaptive cruise control and whatnot are behind the emblem, so they have a glass panel in place of the traditional MB emblem.

 

Ah. Well I think it looks good as is. A tint or wrap may work if you don't use the sensors.

Looks awesome as is. For me having the star black would be a step to far. Works well with the silver AMG.

As mentioned the sensors for distronic are behind the badge.

 

Could you please share some colored photos? it's hard to tell whats black and whats not on a black and white photo

 

Planning on putting a 10% smoke on the front emblem.

Does anyone know if this will mess with the Drivers Assistance/Distronic sensors?

Use black out wrap on the star only. trace it thin.

 

I use a tinted PPF on it. Precut. No problems with distronic

 

VViVid Dark Smoke 16” x 60” adhesive, $13, took 15 min to apply and cut since the ring has a crevice inside for easy trimming.. came out great! Also used the same material for reverse lights pics below

 

I'm trying to decide about tinting mine too. Most days love it as is, some days I want to pull the wrap off the ring and some days I want it tinted.

 

Hey all, I have a 2019 c63s currently getting ppf wrapped. Just wanted to double check if anyone had any issues with the front star being tinted/ wrapped in black with regards to the distronic system behind the embelem? I posted some pics of her on delivery.

On a serious note, I received a gloss black star for the trunk. It also came with an adhesive backing. I'm subscribed the this thread since I also want to black out the front but not at the expense of possibly losing the Distronic.

 

I have attached if the area in question. The silver ring around the star is no issue. My ppf installer said he can wrap that, however the star emblem highlighted in blue is my point of question.

I found an aftermarket one from the UK on CKS however at the opportunity of saving 1000 Australian with shipping etc, was wondering if it’s been done on the original factory piece.

 

If it's from CKS Performance, I'd read a thread running right now about issues with an installation and Distronic not functioning correctly.

 

The up side: it looks great. The downside: you must use the original glass Distronic assembly. However, you run a risk of messing with the alignment of the Distronic assembly and what it 'sees' and what it does not. CKS shows pictures and sells the parts. It's a gut call.
