My C63S sedan build

Hey, I placed my order a couple months back and I thought I'd share how I built the car:
  • Brilliant Blue
  • 19" Cross-spoke black wheels
  • Night package
  • Designo Black/Platinum white leather
  • Carbon Fiber interior trim
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Premium 4 Package
  • Park Assist package
  • Ventilated seats
  • AMG Rear flics
  • AMG Performance Exhaust

There's surely more stuff that I forgot, but that rounds it up. Thinking about adding an Armytrix exhaust and definitely buying the Mode Carbon spoiler.

Either way, can you guys convince me that I wasn't stupid for choosing the sedan? Everyone says that the coupe is better, bla bla bla but I never listened to it. In any case I do prefer having space for more people, but is performance really that much different? Show some love for my sedan :')

Nice build! I think the blue with the black will look great. As far as choosing the sedan, I think it's a personal choice. Personally, I have 3 kiddos and the coupe wasn't an option. It still handles great and is a blast to drive. Only think I'm really experiencing is lack of rear traction due to narrow 265 rubber.

enjoy!!!

thank you!! i can't wait for her to come in. the traction issue can be fixed by simply switching out the tired to wider 275s possibly no?

So you paid for the performance exhaust but already want to replace it with an aftermarket one without having even taken delivery?

It'll be a lease, so I want it to be the loudest it can be without modifications thus the AMG performance exhaust, that way I can't regret not having added it. But if an aftermarket exhaust is a bolt-on mod and it gives the sound I'm looking for then yeah why not? I have heard the C63 without the performance exhaust, so I'm waiting to see how mine sounds when it arrives with the performance exhaust. I also want to hear the Armytrix or IPE exhaust in person to see if the sound justifies the purchase.

The coupe is great but if you want room there is nothing wrong with the sedan. From some angles the coupe reminds me a little too much of an rs7 which I have never been fond of. However the rear of the coupe wins hands down.
unkess you are tracking or racing your car on a regular you wont miss the extra perform from the coupe. The sedan is fast, like you said but some wider tires and should be fine. I went with 265 R888 and had no issues till I tuned it. Going to 295 in the spring.
Good idea on the exhaust. At least if you have it stock with the valves you can change it out with a aftermarket valved option. Check out awe as well, it's more reasonably priced car-back option.

That's good to hear, thank you for the reassurance! I'll probably swap out the rear tires for 265s or so as well, I'm not planning on messing with the ECU since 500hp is already plenty for me, but who knows maybe temptation will get the best of me hahahaha. by the way, do the wheels fit no problem with wider tires or is there anything else I need to do?

I heard AWE's exhaust sounds too 'stock' to justify the modification, but your signature seems like you have it installed so do you think they sound good? The videos I've heard from Armytrix is just insane and I was considering the AWE for my C450 but didn't bother since I'm upgrading anyways.

Also, I saw you have the RW carbon whatever. I was going to fit the exterior cf package but I wanted the mode carbon spoiler so I didn't order any exterior cf from factory. I was thinking about getting the spoiler and mirror caps all from Mode Carbon, but their mirror caps are like $1,000 or so if I recall correctly, and RW Carbon has the same ones for like $400. Do you have any idea if there is a quality difference? I've loved everything I saw from RW and they seem to be a great aftermarket brand for aesthetics and I feel like Mode Carbon is just overpricing their product without any kind of proper justification.

I know a few people running the 295 on the stock wheels with no issues or other mods. It may be a little "beefy" for your taste. 275 or 285 may be a better choice. I am getting wider wheels so 295 will have to stretch a bit more.
Funny I said the 500 HP would be enough for me too. That didn't last long as I bought a piggy after 2 months. Once that didn't work I went the ecu route and am happy (for now)

The awe sounds good to me. It's not downpipe loud but loud enough for me. It gives the car a much deeper sound. I did some GoPro video yesterday and will post once I pull out some clips.

Good idea on not ordering the OEM carbon. While it's nice it's very overpriced. I have the front lip and the mirror caps from rw and they are perfect. No quality issues at all. I ordered some more carbon pieces as well for my spring mod list. So once those some in I can compare the weave and all that up close.

hahahha we all do fall into temptation with the horsepower. I don't know if wider tires are beneficial in colder climates but I'm in South FL so if I do get wider tires it'd be only for pure traction improvement especially on launches and what not.
Looking forward to seeing some footage from your AWE exhaust! It's a bolt-on mod right? Since I'm probably going down the lease road I think it'll give me less headaches later on. I did get the OEM carbon on my C450 and yeah it's nice but ~2k is too much for that stuff. Also think that the mode carbon spoiler looks better and costs less. I think it makes up for the elegant back of the W205 sedans and makes it a little bit more aggressive. Will definitely be getting that and the RW mirror caps!
Also, did you get the AMG performance exhaust or did you get the stock one? What caused you to want to get it aftermarket?

I actually am running 255 I the rear for winter. Narrow works better in the snow. Have to be very careful as it brakes loose all the time now. But I have driven in the snow and absolutely no issues at all getting to work, but when I wanted to go to a parking lot and let it rip they didn't hinder that at all
There are a few vids in my YouTube page and will post the ones from yesterday later this link should take you to some of the vids.

The awe is 100% bolt on, sinxe you got the perf exhaust like I do they send you the system that has the flaps but no motors. You unscrew the stock motors from the exhaust and out then on the awe system. Then it's a few clamps and bolts and ready to go.
I wanted a little deeper noise, I had a s4 with an awe system before and i loved the sound. So once I heard they were releasing something for our car I jumped on it. Especially since it maintains the factory control button.
I did a write up here with some pictures. You can see the diff between the stock and the awe system.

I'll chime in on RW carbon - I have their mirror caps and the GTX spoiler. Both fit perfectly. Spoiler makes a HUGE difference in the overall look of the car.

MODE carbon rear splitter will be here on Friday
