Yes they are. This is where Mercedes insert the nozzle of their grease to lube the flap without having to remove the black flap motor.

If you're under the car this is what the H-pipe will look like:

Penrite Copper Eze it's a cheap product in Australia they are all the same. Copper grease in a tub don't use the spray-on one as it's not thick enough

Thanks please do as I'm 100% certain it'll cure it and just hoping others can get theirs fixed too after seeing your feedback tomorrow 👍

Greased and test drove. Little excess came back out the holes so I wiped that down as well. My car originally didn’t rattle that much, but you could notice it during light load and idle. Car sounds much better/cleaner without the rattle. Family also thinks it doesn’t sound like a tin can now

How good is it without the rattle aye?

You're all set now man didn't I tell you it would work with copper grease! Did you do the H-pipe only or all 3 flaps?

Here is a clip of mine just after greasing the H-pipe and mild acceleration in 3rd. Zero rattles

Haha definitely enjoying the clean exhaust note. I'm glad people won't think I'm driving a tow truck anymore. I did all three flaps as my mufflers were actually a little worse than the H pipe. Hopefully it stays this way for a while haha

Glad it worked man.

It will stay that way for at least 3 to 6 months then as the grease gets dried you'll need to grease the H-pipe again one more time and that's it. It will never rattle again.

Mercedes had the right idea with lubricating the flaps but their grease is sh*t because it can't handle the heat and hardens up after a few weeks. Copper grease won't harden like the Mercedes grease does, it just becomes a tiny bit dry and thick but won't harden up.

hey Jimmy im guessing the same process will apply to the muffer valves too? Insert the lubricant in the holes in the valve assembly?

That's right same process brother make sure it's the thick copper grease from the tub too not the thin spray type and you're good to go.

How long after applying the grease did it take for the sound to go away? I have a 2022 GLE63s with the same exact rattle problem being described here. I used about 4 of the 5ml syringes and the sound is still there. Would you put more or try something else?

Use a torch on the spring and stretch it a little. This is the fix

is this the same method as munis describes in post 267 on this thread? I don’t know how to make a link to it
