Testing C63s AMG
Hi all!
I asked you about this car weeks ago, a bit worried because of the RWD. It would be my first rear and always have driven AWD...I own now an RS5
Well, I tested yesterday (although was not the S). It was raining....the car is amazing, the sound, the driving everything. But omg, it is really scary on wet conditions, I mean it skids so easaly even in straight way. It is true I was testing it but was hoping to be a bit less "nervous"
Still thinking on getting one though
Just wanted to share my experience with you
Pic of the one I drove

That's part of the fun!
Since you've come from AWD it's just a matter of getting used to the difference in grip and learning to control the throttle to make sure the rear isn't kicking out all the time. Take it easy with the acceleration especially in bad weather.
To be honest I've found that the traction control and the e-diff are life savers when the back does kick out (they bring the car back in line pretty quickly).
Thanks for sharing your experience! You won't regret it if you seal the deal on one

Not to hijack the thread, but in your opinion, how did the build quality seem compared to the RS5? My 07 S4 DTM had better build quality than my 09 C63, and my next car will be a C43 or RS5...
What's the climate like where you are from? Coming from a W204, can't say I'd recommend one to anyone living anywhere that receives substantial rainfall.

If you go for a RS5 know that new version is about to be released, with a 3.0 Turbo V6...

RWD is much more fun. Sliding and drifting.
Maybe you should test drive a C63 S model if possible. I noticed much more stability in the S version, probably because of e-diff.

My B5 S4 would spin in the wet and dry even with AWD, and that was usually the most enjoyable part of driving it... then again, it had +200 HP more than the C63S
The C63S isn't my first RWD car, but I owned my Audi for 11 years, and the transition from AWD to a big HP RWD car can be jarring if you're not ready. Just remember that the pedal isn't a binary on/off switch.
The C63 comes with a mechanical diff (compared to the C63S's e-diff which theoretically responds much faster). But don't think that that's going to drastically put the power down better.
