Congrats on breaking into the 10's! Not to be "that guy", but with a big turbo upgrade and all those other mods, how did it only manage a 125 MPH trap speed?

That's a ~5 MPH increase in trap speed over stock at best. That is honestly what I expected from a ECU tune only.

Yeah i am with AlexZ on this. With all that only a 10.9? Granted that is fast as hell but, didnt a member hit a 11.5 on a coupe? To go down only .6 with all those mods it doesn't seem to be worth it IMO if i were a 63 owner.

At this point i am glad I decided to wait on the upgraded turbos. Great that hit the 10s but i would expect deeper into the 10s. my best trap with a stage 1 flash is 124.74. my ET sucks since i got a terrible launch

I'm going to agree with this statement. The stock ones fall off in high rpms. The replacement turbos only appear to be more efficient in later rpms and don't seem to provide a complete powerband improvement. When running the quarter, the car isn't looming in high rpms for long at all. It situations where you are running and holding gears longer, the benefit will be much more apparent.

Still wouldn't buy them for the price.

91-93 octane has nothing to do with any gains. It's all about above 5500 rpm where small stock turbos run out.

So this is more of a 1/2 mile upgrade.

I have the Dime turbos (which by the way are much better) on my car and the difference is night and day difference. Low-end doesnt feel much different than tune only but it's at 5k RPM where things get REALLY interesting.

I can't wait for the next Shift S3ctor event. I will report back. If there's any kind of data you guys want, just let me know and I'll try to accommodate.

You should go to Omega Motorsports no fly zone on April 1st. If I recall correctly the last dime car ran a 155 in the half, which is about a 5-7mph difference from stock.

I was under the impression it ran 159 but I may be confusing things.

I'd love to go the No Fly Zone but I will be at the AMG Driving Academy during that weekend so I won't be able to make it unfortunately. It sucks!

Sorry, but I'm not buying the 1/2 mile / RPM top end / 91 octane theory (guys, you're sounding like apologists).

Anyone who knows 1/4 mile drags knows that trap speed is the best indicator of power. No matter how you slice it, this car should be trapping at the very least 130 MPH. Even big turbo Supras that don't spool until 6000 RPM, have zero traction, and 900 HP can trap 140+ but still run a 12 second quarter if it can't hook up.

This C63S had no traction problems and put the power down very well. A 10.9 is nothing to scoff at, but 125 MPH is a clear indicator that it's not making the claimed power due to hardware or software. If anything, it shows how well it can hook up by cracking 10s at a relatively low trap speed (but only 5 or so MPH over stock?).

You guys should pay closer attention to how long you spend time at and above 5000 RPM throughout an acceleration run. Hint: it's 95% of the time.

You guys should head over to the w212 e63 parts and see what the Weistec turbo's promised and what they actually produced. For the prices, and obviously this is just my opinion, there has yet to be a Weistec turbo kit worth the cost.

Beating cars by a tenth or two is not impressive when you're talking this kind of work/project.

Admittedly, I skimmed this thread... Any mentions of actually putting power to the ground? Could be where there struggle is here.

it's all about the tune you have on your car. Explaining why weistec's upgrades r bad. Their tuner sucks! How many ecu's they fried i can't keep count on my hands including mine which they DID NOT take responsibility for. They told me the "ecu was locked". Whatever, i moved on and learned a lesson to never deal with weistec ever again!

I agree with Alex 100%. That car has no topend power just traction. The mph in the 1/4 mile is the big hello right there!
