Leftover '16 C63 S Sedan: Discount?

I was considering placing an order for a '18 C63 S, when I found a dealer that has a leftover '16 w/ 455 miles on it (test drives they say). It's my second choice color, and the interior isn't what I would have picked, but otherwise it's got the options I'd be looking for. I emailed them, and they offered 18% off right off the bat. It's tempting, but I'm thinking I could do better, especially considering the miles (which don't bother me as much as I know it might bother some).

Any thoughts?

I almost closed a deal on a 2016, right off the showroom floor. It had an $83,300 MSRP, and they were offering $14,500 off.... so roughly 17.4% off.

Sooo... with 450 miles I'd want the same or more.

I ended up buying a CPO 2016 with only 3500 miles on it. Since they CPO'd it, it had an unlimited mile warranty, and an even longer warranty than if I bought a brand new 2017 (due to the extra year of CPO warranty).

I wouldn't mind a CPO at all, but unfortunately, there aren't even any of those in the two colors I'd want (Cardinal Red or Brilliant Blue). I'm thinking of offering 23% off and see what they say. I am eligible for the Fleet discount, which I think might help them make some $$$ back.

Lol, Keyes Van Nuys right? I know they have the Cardinal Red in stock.

Good luck man. They let me walk in January... bought my 16 sedan, polar white with PE, $84,500 sticker, from Encino for $70k.

Thats because I took the red... lol!!

Yeah try to get more of a discount... 450 miles is quite alot. Those are "test" miles... which is a polite way of saying 30 people blasted through the break-in period in every driving mode up to its redline... and ultimately did not buy it.

I test drove that exact one... Cardinal Red... before ending up buying mine. With Keyes, they were willing to offer more of a discount if you financed through them.... then they just said to refinance or pay it off after leaving the lot.

Funny. Your car looks great. I might suggest you powder coat your wheels black. It's cheap... I just had it done. Looks like you've got the same "night styling" on your 16 as I had... almost a Night Package... but not quite. Powder coating the wheels, and painting the badges, made huge difference aesthetically.

Not sure about the financing through them thing... I was leasing, and I loved my sales person at Keyes... he just couldn't make it happen.

Oh well, very happy with what I wound up with.

Nope...this one's in the Midwest. I ended up low-balling them, not expecting them to bite...and they took it! $65k OTD on a car w/ an MSRP of $85.3k. Pretty psyched. I happened to be flying into the town where it's at for work next week, so I just cancelled my return flight and am prepping for a LONG return drive (1400 miles!) next weekend. They took a $500 deposit, and guaranteed it was fully refundable if I show up and everything isn't as new.

Car looks great. "Mine" is very similar: Cardinal Red, same 19" forged wheels, but no Night Package (I actually LIKE the brightwork!).

I know the test drive miles would make some people nervous, but the way I look at it: a bunch of people already did me the favor of logging 500 annoying "break-in" miles: revving through the gears, not staying at one engine RPM. If I was buying this car w/ ~25 miles and then logging 1400 highway miles home, I'd be more nervous.

Congrats man. Sounds like a phenomenal deal... who cares about the miles... it's under warranty anyways.

Enjoy the ride home!!!

thats awesome! Some people have suggested getting black wheels, but honestly the stock wheels just look so good on the cardinal red. It makes the wheels stand out more, and gets a lot of attention.

I think if the wheels were black, the car would be more understated and not turn heads. Wait until you see it in person.

Just be warned. The red attracts every form of competition on the road. Pretty much an invitation to start trouble. Almost every time I drive it people come out of nowhere. Mostly Japanese awd imports. Lol

Yeah, I've got a red W204 C63 currently, so I know exactly what you're talking about.

Glad they finally sold it. I was considering that one and they gave me a price at 66. I would have taken it for 64 max. That dealership in MN has always been solid. Im probably getting my C43 from there. They had the sticker down to 69,999 in the dealership, but kept at 85,3+ on line.

Interesting! Makes we wonder if I could have gotten lower, since I was eligible for the Fleet Discount of $2300 which I *think* MB fully reimburses the dealer for. Ah well, I'm very happy at $20.4k off! I pick it up one week from today.

Did you see it in person? What'd you think of the interior? I don't love the glass fiber trim, or the silver inserts in the black leather when matched with this red ( I think both look great with say, a black or silver car). I was really looking for the saddle brown, but couldn't pass up the deal.

I dont think they would have gone lower. I was in there a while and pushing pretty hard to make a deal at 64 and I wasnt budging and they let me walk. That was maybe a week ago? We worked something out on an '18 order instead, so debating c63/c43, and have a thread on here about that.

The interior actually looks really good. Not a huge fan of the silver fiberglass either, but with the other silver/grey on the car it looks good. If i bought that one I was going to wrap it in black/grey, but my quote on that was 3500. Im not a red car guy, so I am glad someone who is ended up with it. Its been in their showroom, so its absolutely perfect.

Picked it up at 9:30AM yesterday, and drove 1425 miles straight through back to NH yesterday and this morning (got in at 7:00AM). I'm exhausted now, and the car's covered in bugs, but I'll post a few pics this weekend.

Congrats nobbyv! I'm also C63 S sedan shopping and I read in another thread that somebody received a 20% discount off MSRP on a 2017. I talked via PM to him and he mentioned his was built in November 2016 and the dealer unloaded the car to him in April. It sounds like once they hit that 4 or 5 month of inventory on hand they may be more willing to deal. I also think that 3 years into its production cycle its obviously not selling as fast which will work to our advantage. The fact that the Giulia QV and the C63 S coupe are around helps as well. I would like to hear what percentage off MSRP others have been receiving as of late on new sedan purchases.

Do we expect a facelift and/or engine improvements on the C63 S for the 2018 model year?

Yep, that was me! Took awhile, but found a guy down on Long Island that wanted it. It went to it's new home a few weeks ago.
