just wanted to know if they are worth it, and if so which one do you recommend. I don't want to be getting dash lights on

Most people have issues with their tune box. It either messes up or over heats and they are just very unreliable. You can also get more power with out any issues if you get an ecu flash.

For the ecu flash you have to remove the transmission correct, also if their is a issue either the flash would you have to remove the transmission again to access the ecu?

No you do not have to drop the transmission, but it is a 3-4 hour job to remove the Ecu. I was quoted 150- 200 to remove the Ecu.

you can remove the ECU in less than one hour if the tech knows what he's doing

I think most bugs have been worked out for the piggybacks. Mine's been reliable since the latest revision (Rebellion).

With that said, ECU tune will more often than not be a better choice. I'd be switching to the full Dime deal if my relocation out of the country wasn't up in the air for later this year.

My Rebellion was awesome for a couple of months then started to fail cutting in and out. Very annoying.

Ive been quoted $625 (AU$) for remove and refit ECU by a shop that's done a handful of Stage 2 and 3's at the Gold Coast.

Ive also been told the ECU can be relocated for easier access in the future.

I would recomend spending uour your money once and get the ECU bench tune rather then taking a chance with a piggyback that may fail.

I had a rebellion piggy back from late 2015. I ran it for 12 months without any real issues. The problem was that it isn't a very good "tune". Loads of torque from low revs but the top end dropped off a cliff. Fun if you wanna spend your time going sideways but useless on a track. I would recommend going for a proper ecu remap every time. I had trouble keeping up with a lot of slower cars below 60-70mph due to traction issues.
This car really needs bigger turbos to make a tune work well. Otherwise the torque increase low down isn't matched with the top end. IMHO

Like I said, early piggys were.. buggy. Both from a pure tune perspective and a hardware design perspective.

Much of that has been hammered out though, afaik.

So if I went the down track of getting a ecu flash can you hide the tune from your dealer or would your dealer not even notice it's tune. Also I live in Australia so would I have to ship my ecu out and wait for it to be sent back im worried it would get lost and cost me $$$$$$

iv seen a lot of differ brands of tunes from your experience what's the most reliable tune

This is a good forum to see what different companies are offering and how these companies and/or their customers conduct themselves.

I too am in Australia and have been following all these companies over the last year and a half and what their providing in product, service and support.

I've chosen to go with a company that seems to have a very reputable name in the industry and one that doesn't seem to be surrounded in controversy.

Shipping to the US is a little scary, however, just ensure its shipped through a reputable company with tracking and insurance.

Hope this helps.
