Battery tender???
Anyone have a good recommendation?. Is there a port on the car so the hood doesn't need too be kept open???

2016 C63S,2013 C63 AMG Coupe, 2002 C32 AMG (gone but not forgotten)
+1.

I use the CTEK Multi US 25000. Same model MB lists for the C63s. It's a great charger with lots of safety and battery reconditioning features. You can get them for about 200 on Amazon. Probably double that from the dealer.

I personally use Battery Tender and we also use this brand on all of our in house vehicles. They're also water proof and come with both Ring Terminal Harness/Alligator Clip Harness.

Ok, I'm confused folks. Dealer said the battery is a lithium battery. That requires a special charger... These don't appear compatible. Thoughts???

charged my battery with no issues over a month ago using a battery tender.

Lithium batteries for passenger cars are usually over $1200-$1600 each.

Suspect it is an AGM battery and dealer doesnt know the difference.
They are often uninformed about their own products
Ask them to price a lithium battery for your car
Plus for battery tender
For my lawn tractor I use scrap 200ma 12v charger that works just fine for that purpose

Not a lithium battery.
it is in the back of trunk if you want to look for yourself.
It has a hose hanging down to be a vent of the battery so it is a wet or gel or glass mat I would think.

Could the coupe be different??? The lead tech at the dealer specifically told me lithium, and then told me it would cost $1500 to replace

Just wanted to clarify on the chargers. For lithium batteries CTEK actually has a specific charger for it. (Link below). The MUS 4.3 FDNewbie posted is actually only for lead acid batteries. Says on the side on the charger itself. I actually have the 4.3, it is an awesome charger and I use it on all of my vehicles.

I had no idea... So are there any negatives/downsides if you use the 4.3 on the C63S Coupe with a Lithium battery?

Reduced lifespan on the lithium battery. If you haven't had any problems I wouldn't worry about it. Just use a lithium charger next time.

But in this specific situation, the C63S comes with a gel battery, not a lithium one, right?
