Something is definitely very very wrong with the update.
Just thought I'd chime in since I said I felt the car was a bit laggy after the update - I've been driving the last few days and it definitely feels more responsive, so my particular case may have just been adaptation after the update. I can easily light up 1st or 2nd if I'm deliberate with the throttle.

I recommend going back to your dealer so they can diagnose whatever issue you have.

Yes, dealer for me.
Any chance you are located somewhere with altitude?
I'm in Vegas, so 3200 ft or so....

And I found it with a Scanner.
Dealer is now asking me if the scanner is plugged in while driving....

I had the same issue with a transmission update and it sounds as though i got the exhaust update as well. More turbo lag for sure. I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Nope, Philly for me.

Shame there isn't more than one of us in the same dealer network area (yet).

I was wondering if it might be a build date issue (not sure I have a good reason...just thinking of things) but I think we have a pretty wide array of dates going here too. Best I can tell from my VIN search is mine was an October 2015 build sold as a 2016.

In cases like this, it always helps to go to the manufacturer with as much hard proof as possible. It would be understandably difficult but fantastic if we could somehow get one of the impacted cars and a not impacted car dyno'd back to back. I have a hunch that peak power might not be all that different, but how it gets there over the rpm curve would be jaw droppingly different.

I still have not received a reply from my email to Mercedes. I also can't seem to find a way to directly reach the AMG people.

This is a great next step that we are taking the problem cars to the dealer. I will be able to do the same sometime later next week, hopefully. If one of them allows us to drive an in-stock C63S back to back with our cars, they won't be able to deny there is a serious issue.

FYI my car is a 2017 C63s Coupe with production date 9/21/16.

Peak power feels very very similar to me but definitely a different curve to get there. Peak torque is supposed to be 1,750 - 4,500. I have nearly no torque at 1,750. My peak is probably closer to 2,750 - 4,500

Good luck at the dealership Tvall. Hopefully you can spend some driving time with the service associate. "So let me ask you...should a 503 hp v8 car not lose traction in first gear?" then show him.

Where are you located, btw?

A2A, when were you going to the dealer, also today?

My service tech that always works on my car drove with me and I told him to floor it at 1,750rpm in 3rd where you should have peak torque. He immediately said yes this isn't right. Waiting on possible solutions. They are very helpful but there is a possibility that there isn't anything they can do until AMG comes out with a new update.

The good thing is there was no question in his mind that it didn't feel right. I used to be afraid to floor the pedal and now I can do it routinely with no drama.

I am in Pittsburgh PA. I will post updates when I hear from them.

I have a September build Coupe, also.
Dealer visit delayed because the tech and service manager are out... Plus, I have surgery today.

Ah. I'll confirm my build date next week.

Good luck with the surgery. Keep us posted when you get in to the dealer!

awesome, thanks. Hell worst case I'll drive to Pittsburg if they fix yours and my dealerships refuse to help.

Like you said, unfortunately it may need to come from MB AMG

Good luck on surgery as well!

Nothing got solved on day one so the car is staying overnight. They will talk with the shop foreman tomorrow. I'm assuming they will then talk to Mercedes and see if they have a recommendation. Hopefully at the very least they will report this issue and they can begin working on a resolution.

I will keep you all informed

Bad news. Shop foreman drove a new C63s on the lot back to back with mine and said it felt the same if not even better than the new one. They offered to let me drive it as well. I will when I get a chance but it looks like this is how they are rolling off the lot now

Hmm. Well thanks and please do drive it so you know they aren't BSing you. I have a hard time believing that AMG is now selling +500 hp cars that can't spin the tires.

On tbe other hand, if that's true then that means two things. 1) AMG has a bigger problem on their hands and they will seriously need to issue a fix, and 2) the other 95% of the people who have gotten the update are oblivious to the feel of their car and its performance.

Regarding #2, I know most drivers aren't as in-touch or sensitive to changes as I am from years of tuning and tweaking cars, however not only is this a pretty notable change, but also there are folks saying they got the update and their car still goes sideways with decent throttle.

Bottom line is that something doesn't add up.

Good luck with the test drive. Looking forward to hearing your experience. You driving the dealer C63S when you pick yours up later today?

lol, you'd have to be comatose to not notice the difference of being able to spin the tires vs not. Did the mechanic drive in sport+ or comfort mode? I'd definitely go test drive one myself.

Ok, so i got my car back just before the dealership closed. I will go test drive the new one but i did test 1st gear from stop flooring it I CANNOT SPIN TIRES IN ANY MODE AND WITH TRACTION COMPLETELY OFF EVEN!!!! I've spun tires in 1st by accident trying to merge from a stop in full ESP ON! I emailed my dealer and told them to have the shop foreman call me on monday morning to discuss. This is NOT right. It feels like the CLA45 i drove at the track which is a 4 cyl!!!!!!!!!

Guys, try putting some miles on the new software (they're updating the ECU/TCU with the exhaust update) so that it can have proper adaptation.

Mine felt a little laggy when I initially picked it up, but after putting around 150 miles on it, it's back to being a rocket ship! I can easily spin the tires with traction off and the car gets wiggly (can hear tire chirps) with ESP Sport on.

I drive in Race mode 95% of the time with ESP Sport and Comfort suspension (I don't use the individual settings because I've noticed the pops and crackles are much more subdued than Race and Sport+).

I've put probably 750 miles on the car since the update if not more. No change. It's absurd.

yeah. I basically wasted an absurd amount of money on a car that is slower than a Focus ST now.

When you say you did test 1st gear before the dealer closed, do you mean in your car or the dealer's?

Also may be worth asking your dealer how we can reach AMG directly or have them do it on our behalf.

Sorry my post was confusing. I picked my car up just before the dealer closed so i could not drive theirs today. I certainly will next week. I tested in my car on the way home. The shop foreman will be calling me monday and i will discuss with him how this is not acceptable. If they can find a fix great, but if they can't then this needs to be brought to Mercedes' attention ASAP.

Has anyone tried disconnecting the battery? I assume my dealer tried this but you never know. I might have to try it.
