I asked him how he dealt with the extra torque without damaging the tranny. He replied. I said ok, I'm in. I wanted to purchase the entire swap. He didn't reply, then removed me from the followers of his Instagram. I figured maybe that was a mistake. So I gave it a few weeks, followed him again, and sent him another message. He removed me again.

Maybe your experience has been different than mine. Maybe he's a super nice guy. But my experience wasn't very fruitful, even though I was waving $$ in his face to get the setup he talked about.

Maybe you can elaborate more on his setup?
Oh damn. Lol idk what's with that. He wasn't offering to sell me any of it, part numbers on his e63s manifolds, where to buy them, what efr turbos he has and the issues he had with fitment and suggested I stepped down a size... He drew me a picture to show me the angle of manifolds and how to adjust the turbos to fit, etc...

Well at least you make me feel better about it, cuz "how to adjust the turbos to fit" immediately puts it into the "project" category and not a swap I can drop off the car and have done within a day or two.

Yeah... Im not a stranger to projects and making things work. But I actually decided to go with pure 900s rather. I don't see the advantage of changing manifolds and having to do all this special stuff when that set of turbos exist, and are good for 900+ which the car can't even handle due to tmap and transmission.

But I am very excited to say my set of pures showed up the day before Thanksgiving!! Super excited to get them in this week!

Ditto. But can't deal with that in my daily driver too, when none of my other projects are finished either lol.

True that. Hopefully I'll be following you in suit shortly

There’s a guy upgrading his turbochargers with Weistec W.4 on his C63s. Check it out on Instagram (@thorc63s - https://instagram.com/thorc63s?utm_s...d=8p7iw4r5q2ho ) must confess I’m eager to see the results. We all know the M157 (E63, CLS63) can get stupid power, let’s see how’s the M177 going to perform.

I think blaferty on here might be doing the same.

Aside from the price ($10K; more than double the cost of Pure Turbos), some ppl have had wonderful experiences with Weistech, while others have had absolute horror stories to share. Stuff like this: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post7276475. That's a lotta $$ to gamble with IMO.

Can we get our own Garrett GTX 3071R turbos?
Anyone know what turbine housing to use?

To my understanding, Mercedes utilized proprietary turbine housings. Hence why most companies require a core.

This is for W.4 upgrade. I read somewhere the turbos used are Garrett GTX 3071R turbos?
I don't think a core is required.
Does anyone know which housing is required?

For W4, you're right, they don't require a core.

" The Weistec compressor covers provide mounting for the OEM wastegate actuators and is compatible with the stock charge piping. A 3 inch anti-surge inlet is standard to provide unrestricted flow to the compressor.

The Weistec Turbine Housings have V-Band inlets, to allow for a cleaner and easier install, and turbine outlets that not only match the factory location, also have the same flange design to use the same Weistec Downpipes and Midpipes as the stock turbos."

Sounds like they're using a proprietary housing that's made to work with the C63. Obviously, if you have a turbo guru near to you, they could probably look and tell you if the housing design matches something off the shelf.

Weistec are scammers imo. Some kind of connection with dime racing IIRC.

They sell "upgraded" spark plugs, you get them in and theyre stock plugs with the PN grinded off.

TO my understanding there is no aftermarket opinion for spark plugs for w205

All tuners use stock plugs gapped to specs

You are right

And I should have specified what I was referring to.

A friend with a w212 e63 ordered "upgraded" plugs for his car, after inspecting them we realized they were identical Bosch plugs as his stocks, only difference was the part number on weistec was grinded off so they can hide that fact.

Were they sold at a higher price? Either way, that's some shady ish...

Yeah. Like almost double, if not from what oem from dealer or just oem Bosch plugs are....

But they're "upgraded" and get away with it.

That's weird. I know in the RX7 and Supra community, you typically SAVE money when buying these OEM parts from aftermarket suppliers, who obtain them directly from the manufacturer. Eg, Supra TT denso fuel pump was like $400+ from Toyota. $195 from aftermarket source, same Denso part #, without Toyota branding.

I thought the whole point of aftermarket was to get more bang for your buck compared to stealership pricing...?
