Has anyone upgraded turbos?
Maybe your experience has been different than mine. Maybe he's a super nice guy. But my experience wasn't very fruitful, even though I was waving $$ in his face to get the setup he talked about.
Maybe you can elaborate more on his setup?

Oh damn. Lol idk what's with that. He wasn't offering to sell me any of it, part numbers on his e63s manifolds, where to buy them, what efr turbos he has and the issues he had with fitment and suggested I stepped down a size... He drew me a picture to show me the angle of manifolds and how to adjust the turbos to fit, etc...
But I am very excited to say my set of pures showed up the day before Thanksgiving!! Super excited to get them in this week!

Aside from the price ($10K; more than double the cost of Pure Turbos), some ppl have had wonderful experiences with Weistech, while others have had absolute horror stories to share. Stuff like this: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post7276475. That's a lotta $$ to gamble with IMO.
Anyone know what turbine housing to use?

" The Weistec compressor covers provide mounting for the OEM wastegate actuators and is compatible with the stock charge piping. A 3 inch anti-surge inlet is standard to provide unrestricted flow to the compressor.
The Weistec Turbine Housings have V-Band inlets, to allow for a cleaner and easier install, and turbine outlets that not only match the factory location, also have the same flange design to use the same Weistec Downpipes and Midpipes as the stock turbos."
Sounds like they're using a proprietary housing that's made to work with the C63. Obviously, if you have a turbo guru near to you, they could probably look and tell you if the housing design matches something off the shelf.
And I should have specified what I was referring to.
A friend with a w212 e63 ordered "upgraded" plugs for his car, after inspecting them we realized they were identical Bosch plugs as his stocks, only difference was the part number on weistec was grinded off so they can hide that fact.

You are right

I thought the whole point of aftermarket was to get more bang for your buck compared to stealership pricing...?
