Explain the day you picked her up

Dont hold back the details

1. How did you feel when the benz shuttle picked you up?
2. How did you feel when you walked into the dealership to sign papers
3. How did you feel when you finally seen the car.
4. What did you wear
5. What song did you play leaving the lot
6. How was that 1st freeway entrance

Lastly , How did you feel when you pulled of the lot.
I think I know like the ($^$^$##_) Man/gal

Hmmm...
My situation was a little different I guess. Car was delivered to my house from another dealer, so I'll go with that.

1. When I saw the enclosed auto transport pull up on my street, it felt a little crazy. Neighbors came out and took pictures of everything. haha
2. Never signed at the dealer. Signed papers via fedex. More stressful if anything.
3. First got a glance at her through the side door of the transport. I was like a kid their first time to Disneyland
4. Didn't pick out an outfit
5. Didn't find the power to the radio...so I listened to the beautiful sound of that 4.0 biturbo
6. 1at freeway entrance was not spectacular as I was keeping it low. After some break-in time...it was a rush!

I was wondering this as well. My dealer would like me to come and spec the model @ the Dealer.

I'm like dude , we can do this all via Internet and Fedex.
Thinking this is the route ill take. sitting in the dealership sucks
up so much time.

mine was a bit different as well. I went to the dealer to just look at some Benz models. i was going to test a 450 to be honest. ended up taking a c63s they had and fell in love. as i was working on what they had in inventory and around the area so i didnt have to wait for one to come in i saw a delivery truck drive by. just so happens a white(white was my must have) arrived at that time. It was diamond white which i wast sold on and wanted a low key interior. however they pulled it off and once i sat in perf seats and noticed all the Red accents i was sold.
went back a week later.
1. How did you feel when the benz shuttle picked you up?
drove in my car that i was trading in. the S4. it was a mixed emotions ride. however i had just put the car back to stock so alot less hard to see her go
2. How did you feel when you walked into the dealership to sign papers
loved when the saleguy and manager met me at the front with the keys and other promotional items in hand to congratulate me.
3. How did you feel when you finally seen the car.
was awesome as i had only seen it directly off the truck. still plastic and was missing things like center caps. they "amg" expert went over all the features while they finished up the paperwork inside. knew it wasnt going to be informative when the first thing he said was "your going to enjoy the AWD power in the winter". once that was done it was a quick sign and drive
4. What did you wear no idea
5. What song did you play leaving the lot engine noise
6. How was that 1st freeway entrance it was mid jan so it was freezing cold on summer tires it was done CAREFULLY haha

right off the truck

no cneter caps

first time in its new home

This is a fun thread! Bought my car 2.5 weeks ago, so thought I would chime in since the memory is still pretty fresh. For me actually the most memorable part of the whole buying experience was the first test drive. At the time, I was still considering ~5 different models of cars and by driving the AMG and feeling the car get properly driven (let's just say my salesperson had a lot of fun trying to convince me to buy the C63S), I was pretty much instantly sold. That might be my favorite day of the experience, even more so than collection. Regardless, here are my answers:

1. How did you feel when the benz shuttle picked you up?
I actually Ubered to the dealer to sign the paperwork and had a family member drive me to collect the car a couple of days later (had to sort out insurance, etc.) Honestly, I was so giddy during the drive over to collect the car that I don't even remember it!

2. How did you feel when you walked into the dealership to sign papers
This was fun - my salesperson was awesome, and gave me a bunch of free little things as a congratulation (blanket, keychain, AMG key fob cases, etc.) Signing the actual papers wasn't super interesting though, the finance people don't tend to be quite as fun as the sales people! Writing the check for the down payment hurt a bit!

3. How did you feel when you finally seen the car.
Awestruck - I didn't actually test drive the exact car I ended up buying (the car I bought had to come in from another lot, and arrived later than my first test drive). I could hardly believe it was mine!

4. What did you wear
Nothing special, honestly don't remember.

5. What song did you play leaving the lot
No song, just the V8!

6. How was that 1st freeway entrance
I decided to pick up the car at rush hour in a busy part of California, so not quite as exhilarating as I had hoped!! It did allow me to play with the paddle shifters for the first time, which was great. I was still pretty nervous though, so I took the drive home pretty easy, even after exiting the freeway.

Yeah, that sounds like fun, I'm game! The meet last weekend was just a bit too far for me to get to unfortunately. I'll try my best to be at the next meet - would be happy to go for a drive too if it's a bit closer to the Peninsula!

LOL

Yeah your Ambient Lighting thread and Freeway Video threads have been big hits... those are the two I asked to merge. I figured this one would gather some interest (even with your 5 posts)

Note* I find humor in this.

I couldnt do the wait--- had my contact locate a car and he traded for it:

1. No benz shuttle- I drove my M4 and left it there (sold it to a third party who picked it up there)

2. Bored, hate going thru the motions- would rather have been drinking beer

3. I was ok with it, thought it sat too high and was already planning my mods

4. clothes

5. Return of the Mack

6. A little slow, I knew I needed a tune asap... the suspension was bouncy too (I didnt check the PSI until I was driving = 48 psi) and Im sure the over inflated tires played a role.

1. I shuttled my own *** to the dealership, along with my brother-in-law. I was trading in my AMG CLA45, so that's what I drove.
2. Giddy, excited.
3. I saw the car multiple times over the course of two weeks. It was more than familiar to me by the time I went to sign on the dotted line.
4. Shorts, t-shirt. It's California in January.
5. I played the AMG Performance Exhaust on Sport+ with a V8 biturbo M177 song.
6. Traction limited.

I think interacting with a salesperson and having them help with the build process, test driving a C63S before putting down your deposit, making sure all the options you think you want are just as satisfying in person, etc. makes going into the dealership more than worth it.

As for polar white... Pros: it's free, it's cheap to repair dings (at least in comparison to Diamond Metallic and other more bespoke paints MB offers), it looks really good with the night package, black wheels, and any carbon fiber bits (such as lip spoiler, side mirror caps). Also looks great paired with pretty much any interior option MB offers for the C63S.

Cons: it gets dirty really fast, any dust/mud/chips will really show up, not as "unique" as some of the more special paints jobs like diamond white, brilliant blue, or selenite grey.

I dunno though, at the end it's really just up to your personal preference!
