Ive really enjoyed the merc this past year but kind of lost interest these past few months with it. Partially due to some weird update on my car that never made it feel as vicious as when i bought it. I picked up a well cared for Porsche 911 C4s that Ive had my eye on. I bought a new set of Velos S10 that are actually being finished right now as we speak. I'll post some pics later but wanted to put some feelers out to see if theres interest. Im willing to let them go for a good price since they wont work for me now.
I test drove a 2014 Turbo S cabrio. It was a great deal with relatively low miles. i really liked it but 12,500 for new rotors/brakes when it needed them in a few years. I was smitten honestly with the 2017 911 GTS. I was going to get a great deal on it but it still was more $$ than I wanted to spend. 1-2 yr old car i think is my sweet spot. The merc was new when I bought it and I took a bath on the trade in. My m3 before the merc was 2 yrs old and it was in perfect shape just like the porsche

I hope this forum member is okay with me posting pics of their car with the wheels on it. I bought the identical wheels in the same finish and everything. If not let me know and I will take the pics down. This was my inspiration for getting the wheels so def a compliment on the car.
Like guilty I've been keen on a 911 Turbo S... But here in OZ they prices are ridiculous - Second hand ones are still $380K AUD. The new 911.2 Turbo S is about $500K AUD.
Thats a crazy amount of money for a turbo. I thought I would be really bummed about going down on horsepower but Ive surprisingly satisfied. It definitely doesnt have the low end grunt of the merc but the 911 handles the turns like nothing I've ever driven. Fit and finish of the interior is so incredibly nice. I have my eyes on a set of wheels for the 911 but I need to sell these wheels I bought for the mercedes first. I should have kept the merc for another year and enjoyed the wheels with a tune or something. Right now Im happy with my decision, just not a great financial decision to buy wheels on a car you just sold lol.
I traded my 2012 W204 in on a 2013 991S and the Porsche is a real step up as a drivers car. Unfortunately the P car can not be parked in shopping centres etc in Sydney because people delight in keying them. I sold it after a couple of years with less than 3,000 kms on it. The AMG is much more user friendly as a daily driver. I then bought a C207 E400 and really like the car. Doesn't have the grunt etc of the C63 or the P car but for general getting around town and daily duties it does just fine.
Oddly enough, given that I have both, a 997.1 Turbo and a C63S, I much prefer to drive the C63S on a daily basis. I just enjoy the V8 significantly more than the flat 6. Sure, handling-wise, the 911 would run rings around the C63S. But that's mostly for the weekends. Day-to-day, the C63S was much more livable. Granted, mine's a sedan, and the 911 is a 2009.
