Riviera tour 2017 C63S Coupe (pic heavy).

Thought I would share some pictures from my C63S Coupes recent adventures.

Over the last 10 days myself and a bunch of fellow petrolheads headed out of the UK via the channel tunnel onto a 3000 mile tour of some of the best roads in Europe. Think Top Gear but this less car damage.

The trip included driving through UK, France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium. The highlight being a 2 day stop in Switzerland driving the Swiss Apls passes and finishing up at the nordschleife (via the Porsche museum).

The cars on tour included a few Porsches (GT3, GT3RS, GT4), BMW F80 M3, BMW 1M, Nissan 370Z (supercharged) and the tour guides heavily modified BMW 135i.

Parked up at the remains of the historic Reims track in France.

The french Apls in the background before heading down the route napoleon into Monaco.

Short stop on the Col de Turini just outside of Monte Carlo which some of you may recognize from the Rally stages. Very scary road so needed a break from all the supercars, motorbikes and cyclists trying to kill themslves!

Heading out from the busy roads of Monte Carlo into the Italian Apls via Col de Tende.

All parked up at Lake Garda Italy for a chillout day before heading into Switzerland.

Standard EPIC views of the Swiss Apls before giving the car a much earned clean and getting rid of THAT DAM brake dust!

Furka Pass in the background before driving Susten, Grimsel, Nufenen, St Gotthard Passes.

Parked up half way up Nufenen pass. By this time the GT4 and 135i had to take a day off due to technical difficulties.

The car behaved awesome on the trip with no problems at all and while a little heaver than some of the Porsches on some of the tight twisting passes it never fell behind or felt out of its depth and impressed everyone on the trip with its agility and power for a big GT.
I did wear through 50% of my brake pads but given the roads I was impressed the brakes never faded or cooked themselves which was my main worry.
It became known as the trip "Stealth car" as it was smooth and quiet on the highway sections (165mph limit tested legally on the German autobahn) and an absolute hooligan on the fun stuff.

"The hills were alive, with the sound of V8 backfire".

She fitted in well with the more exotic sports cars of Monte Carlo happily getting lots of attention from tourists, but also got waved through all the passport control and police checks.

As I had hoped the car was the perfect Grand Tour weapon and left me extremely happy with my purchase.

Big thanks to http://www.nurburgringuk.com/ for planning the routes and hotels.

Looks the trip of a lifetime. Well done - great to see the AMG out on the roads it was designed for (not the inner city traffic snarls many sportscars face each day).

Must have been fun. Wouldn't mind coming along next time round (if timing is right).

Would like to see how the base 63 fares against the S

This one was invite only as I've been on a few Nürburgring and Alps tours with the company before and we had been on trips with most of the drivers before.
All you had to pay for is your food (breakfast is included), fuel, drinks and any tolls. Hotel, Eurotunnel, tour guide are all included.

Dino from the site listed does several of these tours a year.

Indeed, with hundred foot drops on some of the passes if you lose control I didn't get into Race mode often...
