Euro Bumper!!!!!

Folks,

Anyone know a way to order the euro bumper and ship to USA??? I have contacted 3, Merc certified body shops in Vegas, and no one wants to attempt the customization by cutting/removing/refilling the rear bumper.....

I spoke with a German based Merc dealer, and shipping for one would be WAY too expensive....

Any ideas??????

I would be interested in this. I was thinking of getting the stock one modded but since those bumps are for insurance my insurance company said they would not be able to insure the car if they were removed. I assume it would be a similar situation with the Euro bumper. If you were in an accident would they know? Probably not, but in my opinion it wasn't worth the risk.

try chubb insurance... they are expensive but if you have a claim they write a check... they will insure anything and when the **** hits the fan they don’t argue... hence why it is expensive

So many people have done this successfully with great results. Find a better body shop!

I went to 6 reputable body shops in Boston for this project and got the same responses. Plastic welding is great for a small crack or slit in the surface of the bumper. However, it is not structurally sound. For the c63s coupe, it is a difficult task to fill in the gaps after the 2 bumper guards are removed. This will result in lots of custom fabrication in which for the weather in New England, it might work at first (look good) but over time it will crack due to the fluctuation in temperatures. You are better off buying a Euro bumper.

Sadly, I've already did it and now noticing bubbles when the temperature dropped to 14F during Thanksgiving.
