[Help]Engine oil notification
Hope everybody had a wonderful weekend.
When I was driving in sport+ this past Saturday with engine warmed up, a notification popped up in the middle screen telling me "engine oil low, add 1 quart engine oil".
After seeing this message, I'm confused since my car only has 1300 miles on it, and I think the first oil change should be at 10k miles. After I parked the car for like 10 minutes, I restarted it and there is no message about engine oil at all. I then went to the service page, hoping to retrieve that message but there is absolute nothing..
Now I'm not sure if this is just a typo message sent by the system.. Anyone also experienced this kind of problem? Should I bring the car into dealership to have it looked at?
Thanks!
J

Literally word for word from the owners manual..
“Depending on your driving style, the vehicle consumes up to 0.9 US qt (0.8 liters) of oil per 600 miles (1,000 km). The oil consumption may be higher than this when the vehicle is new or if you frequently drive at high engine speeds.“
its the the first sentence under the Engine Oil section.
So in other words, I wouldn’t worry at all. Check the physical dipstick and add oil as necessary.

I just drop in to the service centre and they check the level.
Its never been topped up on return to service centre.
Gets annoying but more annoying to the service centre when they have to check it all the time then explain nothing needed be done.

I just check the dipstick myself and it is always full so it is just a sensor I guess.
It has never used any oil.

My c63s was also asking for oil. As in your case, there was neither a message after engine restart nor did the dipstick show any oil consumption. The dealership replaced under warranty a sensor. The problem never came back...

Just make sure, that the car DOES burn oil! In my case, I got the warning message when the car did not burn oil. If one adds up some oil, one runs in significant problems, as too much oil will damage the engine.
So please make sure to use the dipstick prior adding oil!

Happened to me as well. Seems to be very common.
I brought it in and they also replaced a sensor under warranty and it hasn't come back, but its only been about a month so, too soon to tell..
Also, it wasn't down any oil when dipstick checked so it has to be the sensor.
