Acceleration
Hello,
I test drove a 2017 AMG C63S and couldnt help but notice that the accelerator isnt too responsive. It doesnt go right away. I knew that was the case in non amg cars but I thought for this it would be different. Am I overthinking this?

welcome to the world of the new gen of c63's by Merc, you're not incorrect in what your feeling they do have a weird tip in low speed throttle feel no matter what mod there is a dead feel wish i hate too. Nothing like the 6.2l which was enjoyable to drive more of a drivers car imo.

I was very disappointed. The car literally barely moved when I pushed the accelerator like in my car. I was really looking forward to buying one soon but I feel I may have to weigh other options now

I don't blame you for looking else where, don't want to **** anyone else off on this forum but there are a lot of better drivers cars imo out there but you have to purchase used in similar price range.

I'm not sure what you mean about hardly moved when hitting the gas, my car in sport + has to do everything it can with traction control on to stop tire spin when I step on it. If I have traction in sport or off the rear wheels are spinning. Also if I'm rolling in second and step on it the rear wheels break loose easily. I have no mods done and all the software updates, I would suggest another test drive and maybe give it another go.

Not my experience at all. The only time I experience lag is when the engine shuts off at a stoplight, which reminds me to turn it off.
Put it in S+. NO lag.

I agree as well: this car has VERY aggressive throttle tip-in and response when in S+. I find it FAR more responsive than my W204 C63 or my C7 Audi S6.

The car didn't used to be like this. Mine was great on tip in before I got a transmission update to fix the jerky transmission in my car. Now it feels like crap on tip in. Can't get anywhere with the dealer on it and they let me drive a new one. It felt the same. Hopefully they come up with an update to fix this issue and get it back to the way it was. I'm shocked how more people aren't noticing this change in their cars.

The Hot V set up in the M177/178 is very responsive (got both) but the threshold for boost in OEM format requires a better push than maybe what the OP was used to. Once I tuned my cars things changed clearly with instant response. The car has the power and clearly its shown in test and track results but it all boils down to the right foot of the human driving it and how he or she depresses the pedal. And as stated, the modes make a huge difference = Sport +.
Now I know a tune is not for everyone but the car is almost "night and day" better from a throttle feel. I can, at times, be almost a bit too touchy but I got used to it. For those who dont got the tune option just get a heavier shoe
