First and only - BAGGED C63S Sedan

Hey guys, just wanted to post some pics and info on what I've been up to, few months ago I started hunting for a bag kit for our cars, it seemed like nobody made anything and many of the big names didn't have any desire to develop a kit for our platform, until Airforce suspension stepped up and said they would do it. Just finished install and adjusting everything, still will need to be adjusted some when my rotiforms come in but slowly and surely we're getting there.

Install was a breeze, everything fit and lined up exactly like it should, probably one of the easiest cars I've ever done suspension work to.

The ride is much less harsh and has made it much more comfortable to drive around in, and of course adding the ability to raise and lower the car however I wish.

Feel free to ask questions, i try to be as helpful as possible, especially when being the only one who's done it 😁

Awesome! Nice plate too 😂

How does it handle? I remember when airbag suspension was more for low riders and Cadillacs but I've heard it can now be tuned to be pretty sporty. Does it get pretty stiff?

Do you have any photos with it at a high ride height? And where do you control the height?

Looks sick, thanks mom? All my mom got me was a magazine for cars when I turned 18.

I wish she bought me stuff lol it's a joke, I'm young and most will automatically think my parents bought me the car from the get go, sooo.... Yolo

Anyways the car handles well still, less harsh, still playing with lengths and dampening, it's all trial and error really.

I'll take some pics at ride height. It's probably too low for many of yalls taste, the rear doesn't air up as high as I'd wish it to, probably needs a spacer type thing between the lower control arm and then bag.

Why do you like the car that low? What's the appeal?

I did it because I bag all of my cars? 🤷*♂️

It looks 1000x better imo laid out when it's parked. What harm is it doing?

For me it's much more comfortable and relieving knowing I can air up the car higher than stock height if I need to... It rides better this way imo than it did on stock suspension.

I don't have any tracks near me nor have I ever tracked a car so I can't attest to the differences on a track... However there's definitely more adjustability with these over stock.

Why do you guys not like bags?

And you're definitely entitled that! However I don't build my cars to please strangers on the internet 😊 I build my cars in my own ways and often being the first to do something or try something new.

I'm not here for praises about my car, we all have the same car..... Just letting the public know that there is new products new development for our platform.

To me, this is NOT the car you bag.

The stock suspension is valved so damn well from the factory. I've never owned a car that isn't "underdamped" (ITS NOT DAMPENED) from the factory except this. And I've owned a GTR, M3s, M5s, M6, Z06, Boss 302, Evo, the list goes on and on.

Yeah it's firm but it's not harsh. If you think a C63S is harsh on comfort you're a puss and need a C450.

IMHO, this is the most ricer thing I've ever seen... you bag a 2JZ IS300 or an FA5 SI, not a brand new c63...

2JZ? As in a Supra? No, no you do not. I'd bag a c63 before a Supra.

Either way, its not something I would personally do but I at least respect the OP for trying something different. I'm just generally interested in all types of cars and modifications without being snobby about it.

To each their own . The older crowd would see this car as a joke but it's really no harm done to the car . How can their be so much negative vibes about "bagging" a car when in reality most Mercedes are bagged from the factory with airmatic suspension . Mercedes even has the setting to relieve pressure from the airmatic System and once you switch from comfort to sport mode it lowers the car just a tad bit more . The only difference here is that you can adjust the height as much as you please . I love cars with adjustable suspension . I guess it has a "ricer" " look to it because it's laid out on stock wheels but once you add some custom wheels I'm sure it'll set the car off just right . Ride low park lower

Some people just can't handle doing their own thing, they think the factory couldn't have done a better job and eat it up, the older guys are the ones making irrelevant posts about how we like our car with tint or suggestions on washer fluid.

Just wait till my wheels get it and it'll look alot better when it's laid out

2jzge to be exact. Not the 2jzgte which is the twin turbo.

I have always had the opinion that they would sell stuff if there were not people to buy it. Apparently there was one. Glad you enjoy your new suspension. Curious how much you dropped for it?

Op:

You bought the car you have every right to do with it what you want; so long as it's legal and doesn't harm others

also you seem totally ok with understanding that you'll receive criticism as you were the one that posted this on a public forum for amg enthusiasts --- can you understand how most people would feel this was totally unpalatable for their tastes? If you can't see that side, then I have no business trying to see your side.

that being said, power to you and post pics of it at stock height ... curious what it looks like

Oh i can definitely see your side, however lots of times, people make comments without anything to back it up. For example people claim the car is ruined, or I've destroyed it's handling or whatever, however they've never driven a bagged car or had one so they wouldn't really know from experience would they?

I'll post a pic here in a sec, just sat down for lunch.

It's the Internet -- home of the empty commentary and straw man arguments!!

my best guess would be that if within the price point amg wanted for the c63 they could have done airmatic "bags" and had same or better performance, they would have. My best guess and experience is that Amg likely did more road testing of their suspension than you will ever do with yours. That being said, if you feel you've improved the car, that's all that matters

but you're right, I've never ridden an amg that you modified with aftermarket air bladders so I can't say for sure

They dont give the option on lowering and raising how I want so in my eyes yes improvement! Definitely not gonna argue with you about my car though, you have yours and I have mine 🤷*♂️

Anyways here's some ride height pics. Still need to adjust the Struts some and would like to get a spacer made for the rear bag, but for now this works. Like I said before, probably much lower than some of you would be comfortable with.
