Wiper Chatter issue? Any solutions?
I've read a lot of Benz owners have windshield wiper issues where they stutter/chatter when in use. I also have the issue but only with light rain. If it's heavy rain, the wipers are usually smooth. I went to the dealership and they replaced my wiper blades. However, I still have the issue just not as bad. They mentioned not to use Rain-X on the windshield, but wouldn't that make it better and easier for the wipers to glide across the windshield?
Any solutions or tips for the stutter/chatter will be greatly appreciated since it is fairly annoying!

I also have the problem and they also have changed the blades. They also have a tool to check the arm angle. I use a glass wax that does a great job of cleaning the glass and making it slick. that helps some but the wipers really suck on this car. Then with rain-x you almost don't need the wipers on. There was another thread on this issue.

I tried at least 3 products on my c63s and ended removing everything..now I don't have any chatter issues..
I used Carpro Ceriglass and removed any coatings I put on and it works like a charm. To be fair since day 1 it already chattered but I though by applying something it would help but nothing worked only when I cleaned it with Ceriglass did I not notice any chatter..also if u already applied anything directly to the wiper blade u will need to replace them too

It is one of my major annoyances with this car. Factory blades. Nothing on the windshield.
It rains a lot here. I buy cars to drive, so see no reason to not drive in the rain (I drove my 911 Turbo through 4 Iowa winters -- with snow tires).
I may try aftermarke blades, but it is annoying as hell.

I also have chatter however I am in a slight different situation. I put on Clearplex from day one so I don't really know if there was a chatter before that. But I am sure Clearplex is not as slick as OEM glass thus the chatter. So if anyone else has Clearplex or similar window "bra" on, please let me know how to get rid of the chatter. I was also told NOT to use Rain-X especially on Clearplex.

I have the original factory blades. The trick is to keep them clean using 303 Aerospace Protectant or a product called PERL. I use both for detailing and clean them every time I detail my car. They are super smooth and look like new. They have never chattered at all. The blades are super easy to remove.

I had this after using a RainX like product (nanolex glass sealant), but a lot of cleaning products use similar type solutions to repel water so you could have had this applied inadvertently.
Disclaimer: This worked for me, but it took a few passes over a few weeks to completely solve the issue.
Coke (or Pepsi depending on preference). Full fat and not diet or zero etc.
Let it go flat and pour a small amount onto a cloth. Wipe all over your screen, try not to get it in your trim and DONT do it in direct sunlight.
Give it 5 min to settle and wipe off with a clean microfibre. If you have any smears wipe away with some clean water.
By the time I tried this I had gone through isopropyl alcohol cleaner, several different types of screen cleaning from Auto Finesse, auto gym and Meguiars. None of which helped. First application stopped the wipers from jumping about, a week later did the same again and all the stuttering was gone, now I've not had any problems since and the wipers work perfect.
Sounds crazy I know but give it a try and see if it makes a difference. It wont cost anything OR damage your car but could save you a lot of money on new blades.

The dealer has a bulletin about this, the first step is new wipers but that's never enough. There is a layer of some sort of protectant/contamination, it's on every windshield, possibly from assembly or transport. There's a special cleaner we use as the second step of the bulletin, that takes any products off the glass. Works very well, if cleaned properly the issue usually does not return. I've used the cleaner on my old CL, which started chattering after installing new MB wipers, and it cleared it up.
The problem is the compound used in the wipers, but MB won't change it, and as long as the glass is actually clean the blades work well, so that's the solution.
I'll try to link the bulletin here tomorrow, but have your dealer use the "intensive cleaner" and do it properly, it will stop the chatter.

Ok so I bought the same exact PIAA wipers in your picture but they did not come with the “e clip”. Any ideas where to source that?

PIAA SI Tech Silicone
Just spoke to PIAA as 97055 is the size they told me to buy for w205. They will not have the E clip adapter until the end of November. Once they do, it will be included in the packaging.
