UPD C63 M177 Induction kits

Looks to be about right. Are you having any concerns in particular?
Are you able to see if there is any appreciable increase in inlet flow area? Think you could post a few good pictures? Looks sweet though...

If you move the spacer a kit the gap will become smaller and once torqued down it will be fine. With that being said it is pre filter so unfiltered air is not going to be an issue
The hardware kit is the same for a few MB models so those spacers are just extra units that go on the W212

The pic you posted (below) shows a really bad gap that is post-filter - meaning dirt, etc. can get sucked into the turbos and damage them. If that's how it's supposed to sit, that's extremely poor fitment for a $450 intake... not trying to knock it, but for that much money they should at least include instructions and perfect fitment considering this is just a spacer and panel filter. I'm holding my breath until someone does a before/after dyno and proves the HP claims. But if that's the intended fitment, that's a deal breaker.

Very interested to see the post-install pictures. I have a BUNCH of comments, but I'll keep them to myself until we see post-install pictures... let's hope that gap goes away
It's monday so... I'm assuming chest and triceps?

In the picture mentioned earlier you do not have it fully installed. Its a nice tight fit, (that's a good thing). Place spacer in the airbox first and flush. Easy sandwich to make...screw, lid, spacer, install it all loose then torque her down. (can assemble off the car as well, easier) Go drive the **** out of it and tell yourself its 10 times faster than before. Feel good about your purchase and carry on!

Did you take the entire airbox out? I cant figure out how to do that

I have this kit on my E63 biturbo and M113K engine and helped friends with their C63 M177, AMG GTs M178 install them as well. It is as easy as changing air filters and fit is solid and air tight. . All the kit come with instructions and if lost or missing, I would then ask for a copy , before winging it. I start the new longer screws into the upper box , before putting on the silver barrel spacers, as it helps to hold them in place. There is no air gap or leak in the corners, it is a corner radius on the aluminum spacer that helps keep a tight seal and remove sharp corners that "restrict " air flow (see first pic of inside air box and corners).
The turbos will love the extra Air! Made a huge difference on my E63 biturbo.

Looks like you have the top off and if the back silver barrel spacers are tough for you, then screw the new screws through the upper lid first by about 3/4" and you can put silicone on them to hold the barrel on, while you put the lid back on. Just a suggestion , if that helps. I am sure others will chime in and a lot of M177`s run these kits all over the world. Everyone I know of and couple friend`s in Australia just puts the kit on in the car. I know , once the top air cover is off, you can just pull up on the lower box to remove it from the car, if you prefer. Every mechanic has his own tricks/methods. The lower box just clips in but you have to make sure air inlets or lines are un -hooked first.

I installed mine yesterday morning . I found that if you squeeze the spacer together a little bit, that it fit into the air box. It's a really snug fit. I really only had difficulty with one screw and spacer. The one beside the builders name plate, I did as Exotic 55 suggested and put some silicon on the screw to hold the spacer. It took me about an hour, and am really happy with the fit and finish. Not to mention it matches the colour of my car.

Now that the intake height is elevated, are any of you finding any issues with the hood maintaining the seal between the engine bay and the top right or left corners of the engine bay that are supposed to be sealed off from heat? Assuming those are electronics?

Just dropped off my C63S at Dinan HQ for unrelated reason, but they've got my stock intake plus the UPD spacer kit, and will do a A-B dyno in conjunction with my Dinan tune, so should have results by sometime next week.
