Use the tool mentioned above. If the tool gets stripped at the socket area meaning it was too hard and you basically rounded the socket you will need a big channel lock wrench and grab the tool mounted on the hub cap by the side. The wrench teeth will grab onto the tool side lines and twist and turn to remove. My rear hub caps get frozen on my C63 and I need the channel lock wrench which is the only way. Do not try to use the wrench on the socket as you will strip it even further and possibly break the center offf the removal tool. You have better torque to remove it by grabbing the tool by the sides. Good luck and remember not to scratch the rim. I would use some cardboard the side of the rim and cut a hole in the center so you can place the tool. This way you don’t miss with the wrench and mess up your $10k rims

Yeah I don't have that tool -- I swear I remember it being in there when I bought the car but it's more gone... My MB dealer says there is no such too and to remove the covers with an exacto knife ::SMH:: amazing, the stupidity of some of these employees.

Here is the tool part number
A000-581-00-00 spanner tool
Find it online. They are like $50 and use a very big channel lock wrench that opens wide 3-4 inches to grab around it. If it’s frozen stuck, you will strip the plastic socket and only the channel lock will help. Good luck. Btw, that center is plastic but the entire piece around is metal, good luck with an xacto knife LOL
