I hate making this type of thread but.... what should I pay on an ordered C63s coupe?
Based on my research I have read that dealers will get 12% on the car..meaning MSRP is 6% above wholesale and there is an additional 6% hold back. So If I am offering the dealer $78.7K ( 9% off MSRP) for a car they simply have to order, am I asking for too much off the MSRP?
I hate playing these stupid games. Consumer tries to get the best price for them. Dealer tries to get the best price for their stakeholders. It just ends up with a lot of back and forth communication and wasted time.
I guess I can buy nationally and have it shipped..but that's a lot of calling around
Either way, come in with your own financing already secured (be it cash, loan, etc.) and make an offer understanding that most dealerships expect to make $5k minimum on these kind of cars. If the guy/gal you are negotiating with has to "go and talk to the manager", end the conversation with that person and ask to talk to the person with the decision making capacity. If you get any push-back at that point be ready to walk.
my configuration.
Plan on full sticker with a custom order.

I have been made to believe there is only 10% total to the dealer including holdback.
There are other discounts if you qualify such as fleet discount and ED on Germany made cars. Also the AMG Private Lounge discount.
Why would a dealer give up most of his profit on a allocation for a car that he gets very few.

Based on what I'm reading, 5% is average, 8%, I couldn't say no. I actually was negotiating a C43 AMG last week (tried to get 10% but they were firm at 8%) then you guys convinced me of getting the 63S so he honored the same discount on my 63S.

USAA car buying service is great for both new and used cars.
I went to Calabasas, Van Nuys and Beverly Hills. I ended up getting a $87,975 MSRP Coupe for $86,975. I was Ok with it becasue I felt the car was worth it and could not be happier with the purchase. This was back in February and the Coupe was pretty new so it might be different now that it has been out for longer.
*I did hated the way all the MB dealerships negotiated. They all tried to pull the "how much do you want to pay per month."
If you are going to finance the car my advice is to get the loan in advance. As for Buy vs Purchase, AMG's do not lease well. I could have gotten a Porsche 911s for the monthly payment fo the AMG.

For us future buyers, to know what to look for, in case we miss it. This would be especially helpful for in-stock cars. Thanks.
