Question C63S Coupe winter driving?

Does anyone drive their C63 coupe in the winter? Any winter tires options? I do like my C43 coupe with 4Matic, but I really want to get the C63 and it will be my daily as well.

I live in Chicago and drive my C63s coupe with winter tires. It's fine as long as it's not a blizzard or just insane amounts of snow. Keep it in comfort mode, easy on the throttle and good set of winter tires and it's doable.

I had a V6 3.8 RWD Genesis Coupe with 350HP and it was absolutely fine on Blizzaks, but watching videos on youtube makes me wonder if the C63 will be fine…

I've only had the car for two weeks and we recently got some snow, have not had any problems. It's on Michelin Alpine winter tires, and they do a decent job, on blizzaks it would be even better.

I live outside of New York city and I drive mine all year. I have dedicated winter wheels and snow tires. It's not a bad car in the winter. The ground clearance is not great when you get *a lot* of snow at once but it's very rarely an issue.
The OEM tires should not be used during cold temperatures and they are downright dangerous on snow/ice.

Here's my setup:

I got a Tirerack winter tire package with Pirelli winter tires in the stock size and some knock-off wheel. Works great in the DC area. We don’t get that much snow here, but when we do, the car works well with them and the Pirelli tires drive pretty well in cold dry conditions.
As stated above, be gentle with power and the car will work fine in the majority of conditions.

I have the sedan, and drive it year-round. I run some Pirelli WinterSports on dedicated wheels. As others have said, traction isn't a big issue (keep it in Comfort so you start in 2nd gear), but ground clearance can be an issue when it starts to pile up. There's no worse feeling than coming home from work to find the plows have created a mini-snowbank in front of the driveway and your road is too busy for pulling over and shoveling it first to be safe (especially in a snowstorm). I just close my eyes and gun it.

Reviving an old thread
Are those stock wheels? Are you running 285 20 winter tires in the back? Who makes the tires? Michelin?

What wheel/tire are you running in the winter? I am in Chicago. Where did you get your set up?

Thanks for the fast reply. What is your winter like? I drove 275 20 winter tires on my RS5 and it was fine but it was all wheel drive. No issues with the 285’s in the winter?

Do you have a separate set of rims for winter and summer?

Its your personal preference but generally for winter tires it is said less width is better. I have a separate set of winter rims and run a square 255/35/19 setup here in Toronto.

I recently purchased my 2019 C63S coupe (2 months ago) and will be faced with same issue here in NYC. The advice here is to purchase a winter Wheel and Tire package than putting snow tires on stock rims. I have a monthly contract with an indoor parking lot in NYC. Within this parking lot is Enterprise Rentals. If a major snow storm is coming I plan to rent for week or so and leave the C63S warm and safe.

I drive year round. I’m in an area that in stretches gets some winter weather and is consistently cold enough in winter that the summer tires are not optimal. I also get spring like weather at times in the winter where it’s not optimal for winter tires.
During the winter I run Michelin Pilot Sport AS3s
Great mild weather performance and still gives me grip when it’s cold.

Does anyone live in Canada where the snow gets pretty bad. I want to know if you can drive a c63 with winter tires in Canada?

I do. 100% manageable. My winter set is a square setup 19" 255/35/19 with Michelin tires. Last winter there was only one or maybe two days where I preferred not to drive.

I do... The past 2 winters... Mine is lowered on KW HAS too. I run winter Michelins 255/35/19, 285/30/20 on my stock winter wheels.... I’m in Toronto....
I’ve driven lowered, RWD cars all my life and just have good winters and drive responsible....

I live in Vancouver and even though we don't generally get too much snow in the winter, I don't plan on driving my C63S. Even in the wet the car seems pretty tail happy and I'm not the most skillful driver out there, so I'll stick to my SUV for winter driving haha

Yep agreed, I wouldn’t have picked up a c63 if I didn’t already have my awd warrior for the winters.
