New Recall for FSCU - March 2018

Brought my car in for service B today and he noted recall campaign number 201708006, Update fuel system control unit (FSCU) software. Anyone else have any information on this? MBUSA only has the seat belt recall I already had completed.

BTW, I went ahead and got it done - we'll see if it has any affect on the drive/power/sound of the car...

Want to revive this thread. I took my car in today for the airbag recall, and this campaign was brought up as well. It would be great info if anybody has direct knowledge as to whether not this will affect a tune? The recall campaign specifically states that the FSCU module will be updated, and does not directly mention the ECU.

Only flashes the FSCU, has no effect on the M/E. It has something to do with diagnostic add-ons, there were some OBD2 codes missing or something like that, won't make any difference to you at all.

Amazing coincidence. Talked to my dealer about this today as well... And called RennTech. (Have RennTech tune).
RennTech rep confirmed that the fuel supply module is separate from the ECU and that you can have that flashed without wasting your tune.

The FSCU is actually a little box under the back seat or in the trunk, depending on model, that just runs the low pressure fuel pump. The new pumps are 3 phase, so they have to have a dedicated controller, that's what the FSCU is. It is basically just the power supply and regulation for the low pressure pump in the tank, but it's got some diagnostic functions like any other module.
