they are replacing the differential tomorrow. They got the approval from AMG. About time lol

After replacing the entire differential and updating software car was amazing for a month but now I get this floating feeling in Sport plus mode, passing and changing lane last week scared the crap out of me as car went left right left right as if I was sliding.
Don't know if m diff is acting again or could it be alignment issue?
didbyou ever find out what was wrong with it?

just let them know that many other owners are dealing with the same issue. It may help for them to look into that possibility now, rather than go over 20 other different things for no reason. If your car is a 2018 or older model, they will probably just replace the diff as well, since those models are rejecting the update that should fix the problem. Let me know how it goes.

I haven’t received the message in a while, and they said I’d have to drive it to see if it comes back.

Hey everyone! So I had the same message pop up few months back. I didn’t really care for the error since turning off and on the car the error would go away for a week time. It wasnt until last month that the error popped up a lot more frequently and I can tell that the car doesn’t have good traction and the car feels like a boat in sport + /race mode.
I took my car to the dealer today for the software update. They did the update and the error just came back again lol so I’m leaving it there until they find what’s wrong with it.
Any ideas what could be wrong? ( I drive a 17 c63S coupe. I have downpies, full exhaust, tune and weistec air intake on it if matters.)
thanks!

On a side note are you talking about the Weistec Carbon Fiber Air Boxes? If so, did you have those before the downpipes? Did they make any difference to the sound?

yes I have the weistec carbon fiber intake. I installed them after my downpipes, tune and exhaust didn’t notice any sound difference.

Problem fixed

So the dealer did the update but the error still came back.
They decided to replace the whole rear differential and whatever it was that seemed to solve the problem. The error has not come back again and the car definitely seems different. The ride is a lot smoother and I don’t have as much traction issues.

Mine was giving the message for a month. Finally took it in. Dealer did as above and replaced my differential motor. Message came back a week later. It's headed back next week.

I had this coming up sporadically over a few months. It would just randomly appear and the go away on its own, and the car didn't feel like it drove any differently when it popped up. Finally got around to taking it into the dealer though, and they ran a software update (can't remember what type it was), and that seems to have taken care of it as it hasn't come up since (about 3 weeks now).

I’m from Australia and my c63s with 15,000km on it has this message pop up from once in a while to every time I accelerate the car a bit more harshly than sensible driving. I have since been to the dealership twice and they have updated the traction control system and differential system. I’ve noticed that it only happens when you’re on half traction. There was a recall last year where the traction control system was cutting power too aggressively causing the differential to receive a shock and potentially crack it. Their remedy was to update the software traction software. However I still get that message. Bringing it back in tomorrow to see what they’ll try next.

What was the outcome? i have a 2017/18 Model C63s Coupe, and always get this message. I took it in to my dealer months ago, they updated the S/W saying that it had fixed it. I started getting the message again afterwards. I just had a major B1 Service 3 weeks ago and asked them to look at the issue again, and was told they submitted the technical case to Mercedes to have the diff replaced. 3 weeks later still have not heard anything, and still getting the error message pop up.

BTW i was told i have two major services in a row, only 20,000km on the clock, just had its first major, and told the next one would be a major also.? How does this make sense, when the computer says the next service is an A1.?

So to confirm, seems like this applies to the eDiff on S models (and i presume potentially non-S FL models) but not the mechanical LSD on pre-FL C63 models?

I’ve had same problem and they sad they needed to start buy changing the voltage converter and starting battery. But that’s my case. If they can’t solve your problem, try changing the voltage converter if the diff does give any fault readings or error codes. Apparently if the voltage is to low when you crank the motor you can get error codes elsewhere. When my error code appeared it also stated problem with electronic handbrake, but it worked when pressing the button

I got this message for the 4th time and its at the dealership. They will talk to MB Canada and see what to do because obviously a software update is not fixing it.
