Pops and crackles

But in any case, am quite happy the way it is now as I was expecting much worse based on all the threads floating around.

C63s wagon
I have a ex demo at 1100 miles and having had a 14 plate c63 this version def doesn’t crack and pop like I’d want it to. I’ve had rs6’s, Porsche panameras (more pops but not engine gruff)and they all have More character as far as engine pops and crackles (rs6 was a 15 plate, Remus exhaust stage2) however this wagon is epic - just need the exhaust Notes to be fixed ! Are we any nearer?

Just watched rokenr's unveiling of his GT63S four door in the UK and it's clear that this car was unaffected by the changes and is loud and proud as ever, popping and banging consistently when revved up and stationary. This has to give us some hope of a software fix surely... Emissions and regulations wise they're equivalent surely?

Sounds awesome. You hitting about 6K on those revs? That's what it sounds like to me. I'm going to do a video of mine and post as well.

At this stage I want one of two things (in order of preference):
(1) A fix to the issue in the form of a software update. AMG could make the exhaust note software update optional, or even not offer it to customers in countries/states where it may run afoul of emissions or noise regulations.
(2) An explanation and apology from Mercedes Benz and AMG to all of the affected owners. To me, the complete lack of acknowledgement and response from Mercedes is very frustrating. Not every company can always please its customers, but failing to even acknowledge that a major customer issue exists is very disappointing.

Is it in theory possible to take the C63S pre-FL exhaust components and fit it on a FL C63S ? Would that help get more data points on this issue?

UK version of the 2019 C63s seems to pop and bang ok. Listen to beginning and about 6 mins in.

Is it just the US version which is quieter?

Depends what you mean by a press car. This car was registered in the UK between Sept 18 and Feb 19, so somewhat after the press cars which most people tested back in June/July 2018 at Billster Berg in Germany. No reason to believe that this isn't a standard UK car.

Mine is a UK car and it's roughly in line with what others have found with their customer cars - it pops/bangs on demand in sport+/race when lifting off around/over 3krpm. Doesn't pop/bang at all on downshift no matter how hard I try. Will pop/bang when stationary and revving in sport+/race.
I've got an ASR module fitted to mine that keeps the rear valves constantly open, I must get around to recording some sound clips to share... Sounds a good deal more aggressive lower down when enabled.
