Calling ALL US c63s owners!!!!
Please call MBUSA and complain about the lack of pops and bangs.
I called and talked and filed a formal complaint after the dealer told me to and the MBUSA rep confirmed that sales and service DO NOT file formal complaints like this in the US.. You have to call the mercedes customer service number 1 800 367 6372.
I think you have to press 5 both times to get to a rep. I got one in like 20 seconds of waiting so it shouldn't take long.
Literally 20 minutes after i called The rep called me back and said there is a bulletin to respond to this..Saying the 2019 had to be made quieter thanks to new US regulations. But there are no new regulations.. only California has a new law which force officers to enforce current exhaust regulations by making it mandatory to write a ticket if a car is louder than it should be.
The Customer Service Rep(Isaiah) said to get people to complain and AMG will definitely update the software and get it closer to the legal limit. So please call that number and get those complaints in ASAP!!!
They only need your phone number to pull up all the car info and document the complaint.

Just got off the phone with them. Rep told me that this is the first time he’s hearing about it and that I should have the dealership look at it. I got the feeling that he wasn’t buying that this seems to be a unanimous complaint among facelift C63s owners.
I filed a formal complaint and requested a “claim” number. Make sure you ask for it so that you know your complaint was lodged.

Yep my manual says it too, but I’ve confirmed direct with AMG that it is no longer required despite this being in the manual; Europe/UK anyway. Believe me I argued, but was shown a release I couldn’t argue with at dealer, then AMG Germany confirmed too. Can’t see any harm in doing it anyway, so make your own enquires.
On topic: I’ve just put out a video of the 2019 C63S Wagon, you can compare the exhaust note vs the coupe I tested last year, really is markedly different, only bangs coming off throttle. Hope to have some update this week from Affalterbach.

I actually just called and got Isaiah as well! Not only did he confirm that the rear differential boil change is not necessary he also mentioned to me that my complaint in regards to the pops and crackles was being addressed and that a potential update would be announced in the future. Fingers crossed as that beautiful sound is 90% of the reason I enjoyed my AMG's in the past

The car is loud.. it's just the pops and bangs seem to be less than in the press cars.. I would in no way let this issue sway anyone to not get the car.. Still sounds way way better than anything in its class. We just want those pops and bangs that were soo apparent in the press cars.

I've uploaded a video on my Instagram showing the exhaust because I cant upload on YouTube for some reason. Pls check and comment. Theres no pops just rumbles. I have to press really hard to 4k let the limiter kick in to produce that rumble. Or else it doesnt even make that sound. And if I press just a bit slow. It doesnt even produce rumbles.

There is no way that is stock...right? i've watched countless youtube videos and have never heard revving pop and crackle that loudly and pronounced, even in all W205 pre-facelift models.

And here is one without the parking garage echo. The M6s revs were pretty dull needless to say even though it had a hamann exhaust.

Now that sounds much more similar to what seek3n posted...still does crackle a little earlier in your video, but you're also revving more aggressively than seek3n was. Hmmm...definitely sounds like something is different with the '19s

It is different software.. MBUSA confirmed this with me.. They have a bulletin about the reduction in sound due to software changes due to new regulations.. But we don't have any new regulations in the U.S. only the EU does. So that's why we gotta complain and get this fixed!!!!
Also deleting a cat makes a big difference. Untammed car sounds just like my buddies with a secondary cat delete.

The more I read the more I am glad I purchased mine when I did. If the exhaust note is minimized, that would be a complete bummer for me. I wouldn’t have purchased the car if it sounds the way some of the 2019s I have heard sound . I am bummed for you guys and hope there is a solution soon.
