Is anyone running these on a 2017 without issue? Seems like a couple people in this thread with the 2017s never got them to work. I called AWE and they insist only 2019s wouldn't work with them.

I'm also wondering how exactly they work, as they're made for their track exhaust with no valves, they're just supposed to trick the car into thinking the valves are operable. I'm assuming when the car is parked/off the valves open fully so that when the sims are installed the valves never close there after?

Their track exhaust isn't valved so the sims will 'tell' the car's ECU that the 'valves' are in the correct position in relation to throttle. If you don't do this then the car will throw a CEL. This is a benefit to valved, stock cars in that the positive side-effect of this is the stock valves will stay open. They absolutely DO work on a 2017 as that's what I had mine plugged into for a time until I had the switchable ASR.

Also for completion's sake I can confirm the RX2 works just great with the 2019 facelift as that's what I have now.

Just because I'm curious on how they actually work on the two different setups, why do they make the car think the valves are open on the track exhaust in relation to the throttle but on the stock exhaust they stay always open?

I figured they just forced the valves always open on both, regardless, but then where would the "simulator" portion of the name come from...

Probably bad description on my part - they're kept open on the stock, valved exhaust 100% of the time, the track exhaust doesn't have valved mufflers (as I understand) so they 'tell' the car's ECU they're opening/closing as normal.

The part of the wiring that the simulator plugs into, that wiring is coming off the car and is no way attached to the exhaust, correct? I'm just thinking in the case of the AWE track exhaust install, when the simulators are plugged in and tucked away, the exhaust has to drop free from the car for the awe track to go on, so the wiring that actually connects to the simulator must route back to the car?

Has anyone had any positive experience with these simulators?

Or, does anyone know if it is possible to code the valves 100% open via DTS Monaco or similar?

The 2019 does not have secondary cats, it's straight pipe from the headers to cat to mufflers.

Will these work for the 2019 GLC43 with out the PE button? If so how much do you want for them?

The other thing I will try and report back if of interest is closing the valve with a decommissioning plug on the H Pipe. Going back to early days I know they were really pre X pipe and were mainly used as a balance pipe to quieten down the exhaust and remove that crackle sound, so it makes sense the exhaust would be louder and more agressive with the H pipe closed off. There is still a real difference in sound going from drive in S+ to Park
I found this thread when searching for info on the H pipe and valve setup and seem to remember Chris Harris doing a review of the C63 and going over the exhaust.
Are the decommissioning plugs compatible with the GLC43 exhaust?

So are these confirmed to be incompatible with 2019s? Or has someone been able to install them without any power loss.

They're not 2019 compatible but someone here claimed they just unplugged theirs and taped off the connectors and it had the same effect but didn't set the car into limp. I was suspicious but they've been adamant it was fine...

Damn.

I wanted to do a muffler delete but I need to find a way to deal with the valves. I already ordered the valve simulators but won't even bother trying to connect it if its going to send the car into limp.

Does anyone know if the valve could just be removed from the muffler and I can leave everything connected and intact but just zip-tied out of the way?

what makes you say valve simulators are not 2019 compatible?

theres no tech to it, same valve in the 2019 and the simulator should just plug in and let the ECU think the valve is still there.

Valve may be the same but different connectors as I understand it - there's a reason there are 2 verisons, pre-FL (RX1) vs FL (RX2)

I have the RX2 ASR module in my 2019...

Theoretically if I left my ASR module in, and took out the mufflers along with the valves, wouldn't it serve the same purpose?

Doesn't the ASR already trick the ECU into thinking the valves are functioning normally?

Also, with all this talk of soft limp mode, I was doing some pulls yesterday and was able to get up to about 460-480 HP. Is it possible my cars been in a soft limp mode since putting on the ASR module almost 5 months ago?

I didn't have that much road to try to get into the 500s but if my car were in some sort of limp mode, would it even be reaching mid to high 400s?

Spoke to someone at awe regarding the valve simulators on the facelift.

I can confirm they are not compatible on 2019+ models. Supposedly MB changed the system in the cars so I guess it doesn't recognize or accept the signal given my the simulators.

But we can possibly expect a facelift version in a few months.

I've been thinking my asr module might do the trick for a muffler delete though. It already tricks the ecu into thinking the car has normal control over the valves, so I think I might be able to disconnect the valves and leave the asr in the trunk.

I'd like to try this, but if it does put my car into limp mode, would reconnecting the valves take it out? Or would I need to go to mercedes?

I think your car is losing power, you should get 500 hp. Try to disconnect the module, and test the car.

The ASR valve controllers are compatible with C63s to present including anything fitted with OPF. The Decommissioning plugs are not compatible so the ASR unit will meet the valve control requirements except for the centre valve in the H pipe which it does not (and should not) control Iv’e provided these controllers to many C63 owners with good outcomes.
If you get Carly for Mercedes you can clear fault codes (but it does not allow any coding as such)

Why should we need to visit a dealership to have codes cleared? And who or what is a 'Carly for Mercedes'? These items should be a simple plug-&-play. Especially for ~$330USD.....

does anyone still have these simulators and can run a resistance check with a DMM between pins 2 and 3? would be curious what size resistor they are using.

i may have found a $25 dollar solution.
