Wireless phone charging ashtray area
My cars in the shop so I'm driving a 2018 loaner E-class and it has the wireless phone charger.
What's the best wireless charging retrofit out there for our c63s or w205? Does it exist?

Bump...starting to research how to cleanly add a wireless charger to my C63s. I’m hoping someone has already worked out this mod so I can shamelessly steal their idea.

My second vehicle is a Ram 1500 which has this (see attached link) as an option. I’m thinking about trying to build something similar for the armrest storage compartment, but don’t want to lose the entire armrest to a phone charger. Still researching....

It's a creative solution however I use my cup holders quite a bit.
Anyone know where I can get a 3D model of the current ashtray that I can print on a 3D printer with modifications so I can fit a wireless charger inside?

I tried to come up with a good way of integrating wireless charging into the cup holder area but couldn't come up with anything convenient, so I decided to try out this cheap magnetic Qi charger on Amazon along with a flat micro USB cable:
I use Waze a lot so I wanted to be able to see the screen, which this works well for. Not to mention, since the Bluetooth integration for Spotify pretty much sucks in this car (no dedicated app/Apple Carplay) I can just plop my phone on it when I get in and it will charge and still give me a good view of my screen if I want to change playlists, etc.
I didn't even realize when I bought it that it has pretty-much a lighted Mercedes logo on it, so it actually looks like its an overpriced OEM product.

Yeah it just came with a round piece of double sided tape so you can stick it anywhere. I have an iPhone X with a case on it and the magnet on the charger holds it tight....even when I was messing around on a back road with ESP off.

After searching the internet and failing to find what I wanted, I decided to try and build my own solution for wireless phone charging. I wanted something that was discreet, didn't clutter the interior and didn't look like a 3rd party add on after thought. I hate wires running across my dash!
If you remove the ashtray an iPhone X will just fit into the space without interfering with the use of the cupholders or the folding cup holder/ashtray area cover.
Ash Tray Removed
I bought a wireless charging pad to see how it would fit and unfortunately it needed support from below or it didn't lay close enough to the phone for charging. I built a small wedge that fit snugly into the space so it wouldn't move and rattle. I painted it with plastic-dip to give it some added grip.
Building Platform
Platform in place
It works like a charm and disappears when I'm not using it. Super easy mod for a few bucks and saves the hassle of plugging in the phone every time i begin a trip. Cup holders are also fully functional.
Charger complete!
Here's the links to the charger and cord if anyone's interested.

Why not buy a Samsung wireless charger and insert it in the armrest and connect it to the USB in there ? Costs maybe $30.

I just bought this and it's not worth the money. It charges your phone in a burst (it comes on and off and you can hear the bing every couple of seconds) and it has no cooling so heat is a problem. Not sure if there is a setting that I have to adjust, but I lost charge instead of gaining a charge. Using your iPhone cable charger is the way to go.

Since it's so difficult to find one on the market, I've decided to make my own ashtray wireless charger for my C63S. Total of 1 hour labor time to make and install.
More Pics and Video below
Parts:
1. Braided USB to Micro USB (L-shape) - 9inch.
2. DIY 10W wireless charging chip - Took 6 weeks from China for delivery
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1pc-Qi-Wire...53.m2749.l2649
3. RAV 24W to USB 4.1A Car Charger
Tools Used:
1. Drill with a large drill bit.
2. Hot Glue Gun
Installation
1.Drilled a hole in the bottom front right area of the ashtray where recessed to fit the USB cable. The hole needs to be large enough to get the microUSB cable through it.
2.Hot glued the coil to the underside of the ashtray. Aligned the built-in status LED light with the left side opening. Plugged in the microUSB cable to the circuit board.
3. Hot glued the top shut.
4. Plug in the RAV car charger into the 12V next to the ashtray and then plug in the USB cable.
Operation:
When the charger is not charging the LED light is RED, When the phone is charging the LED turns BLUE.

After reading the negatives about this charger, Im going to buy a wireless rectangular pad and place it where the drinks holder would have been.
Yes I am one of those guys that doesnt drink in my car aside from water.
